Warrenty claims

I have had to do a warrenty claim on my bike ,the dealers forwarded this to Yamaha who accepted the claim, four months later … still waiting, the dealers reckon the problem is getting the part from Japan !!!

I contacted them today and was told to speak to Yamaha uk and see if i can get any answers from them ,

F*** me i thought the was their job to chase these sort of things up,so if there is anybody that could give me some advice in dealing with the manufacturers i would appreaciate it.

I thought that any warranty claim the dealership had to forward on what needs to be done in order for the dealer to get paid by the manufacturer, the dealer should do a preliminary check of repairs needed and then would need the manufacturer comfirmation to do the work under warranty. Depending if “wear and tear” issues are argumentative the manufacturer should accept the invoice for the work to be done.

Not sure though, what has happened so far? Is the dealership a Yamaha supplier?

Yep ,main london Yamaha dealer.

This is an issue in contract law ring yamaha uk tell them of the P*** poor service you have had from thier appointed main dealer and agent. Tell them if not rectified with in 7 days (Not working days ie one week) you will issue porceedings for breach and nominate both them and the dealer as first and second defendants. If this advise works you owe me a beer.

If not and you or any one else on here needs help on this sort of thing pm me or ring RSS.

Im going to ring Yamaha uk,i will let you know how i get on,many thanks for the advice.

sorted !!! got on to Yamaha who comfirmed that the parts had been sent out weeks ago,so with this info i phoned the dealers and casualy dropped this in to the conversation, well get back to you…,and they did,“can you drop it in this week, the parts are in fact at out other shop”.Its not good but its getting done.

Glad my advise helped.
