warning to all the idiots without L plates on

I’d imagine the fact that he was doing 60 in a 40 probably got the plod’s back up - and then if the bike was in a horrific state (ie the chain’s hanging down like a 90 year-old’s mammaries), of course he’ll also get 3 points for the L plates

If you saw the way I rode my scooter around town, you would defiantly think I have stolen it! :stuck_out_tongue:

I have to say even though I know the guy I totally agree. He’s a nice enough bloke but he rode like a twat in town and I’m glad they gave him points for not having l plates. I see peds riding over pavements to get round cars and riding without ls all the time. The police need to crack down on it, ESP as these people have not even had basic training other than a cbt.

and riding with no ‘L’ plates , is riding not in accordance so your bike can be seized and you have to pay £150 + storage costs and all the inconvenience of having to go collect it !!!:stuck_out_tongue:

If the holes are drilled in the numberplate and the rider says they were there last time he checked, would you seriously seize a bike?

like i said can be seized, not will…but if your getting the fine anyway might as well rub salt in the wound !

thats a crock of ****. I ‘snapped’ my L plate off once when I had just turned 16 as i wanted to look cool. But you dont. You look like an idiot. The Police and yourself are not stupid, they know, you know, that the L plate was taken off by you and not simply fallen off.If you lied to them about the L plate did you lie about anything else? Insurance? Licence? They will dig deeper and make your day worse!

Having a bad day? I only asked the question, because on emergency bikers a police motorcyclist let a moped rider off with a warning. I have L plates on, C.B.T and fully comp insurance. Thanks for your concern though…

Not at all mate. Written words can all be read in a different way.

If you lie/twist the truth about you L plates ‘being there the last time you checked’ I know most coppers will think that highly likely that you removed them yourself. Plus they will also offer advice and ask if you checked the bike fully before riding (which were all meant to do)

Im not digging at you. Just offering more words of insight and experience.

That’s probably because that particular Police Force doesn’t have their own pound, unlike the Met who have two…I should know, I work at one of them!

Yip, and if they’re lucky they’ll have to deal with someone like me who won’t tolerate any c**p!

Working together for a safer london !!!:hehe:

This is why my “mate” got such a pasting tbh, after he got pulled for speeding which he said he wasn’t they check the bike and the L plates had “broken off” the copper simply checked the break and as they where dirty with grim simply said your full of **** and nailed him!

Again good on them i say!

Do you know for a fact he got 9 points, or is this what he told you?

Arent 40,000 police going to be put on the dole, or is the dailywail just scaremongering?
