Wanted: 1000cc sports bike and garage

Hi LB, it’s time to get another bike so I’m after either a 2004 onwards R1 or a BMW S1000RR

THe kicker is I also need somewhere to keep my purchase as I have no parking at my current home. Happy to share or rent a garage if anybody knows of anything. I live in N15 between Stamford Hill and South Tottenham so local would be good. Willing to travel nationwide for the bike though

Hello Mrs!
Good luck with getting the right bike

Welcome back and good luck with that

The bike will be easier to source than a garage in N15

Not sure how much I’d trust a stranger to share a garage with a valuable bike in it… See if you have any around for rent?

Great choice of bikes, price range differs greatly though!

Lived in Tottenham practically all my life and best of luck getting a garage. The places you can get a garage are in council estates where it will get stolen out of the garage!

Thanks all, the garage is proving to be the trickiest part :frowning:

I’m happy to have a garage in other areas too, as I have a car and can drive there, swap to the bike and vice versa…though not ideal!

I rented a garage from these guys for a few years:

They’ve got lock-up garages all over the place & I found them friendly & nice to deal with.

Hey you’re back

Have you got an American accent now?

Lived in N15 for about 5 years about 7 years ago, and I was anxious about my bikes.

One did get stolen outside my house despite being chained up.

Seven Sisters has changed loads since then though.

Have you thought about trying to befriend another local biker that owns a house with a garage and give them a little cash to share it?

In terms of bikes…

I loved my 2004 R1, and I’d have another, but I think the S1000RR will feel like another level in terms of handling and performance. I know the 2011 ZX10R I tested when they first came out, felt like things had moved on.

Not so much in the engine though compared to my K5 1000, as it seemed to lack low down grunt but on the other hand revved on for ever (huge top end).

Anyway, welcome back.

I park mine in my hallway

Thank, that’s SUPER useful! Calling them now as I have my eye on an R1

Hi Eug!! How the hell are you? I did CSS on the S1000RR in the US and it’s a lovely bike. But it is double the price of an R1, much newer though. Even the R1’s have held their value. I sold mine 4 years ago for about £4k and will have to pay that to get the same thing 4 years (and miles) later!! I do have a real weakness for the 2004-2006 R1. It just floats my boat

I’m on the lookout for local bikers

Hi I may have a garage share opportunity in N16 in a few weeks time - was planning to rent it out as a whole but decided to keep half for my bikes and general storage…

Great, keep me posted! I’ve just organised a short term 3 month let as I just bought myself an R1 but the location isn’t ideal

Will do.

R1 - tasty!!!

Pics???

I’m picking it up Sunday

I know what you mean about that gen R1…For me it was the sound on acceleration…when the EXUP valve opens…Maybe it’s because Yamaha make musical instruments

What do you think of the 2009?

Again the sound gets me :w00t:

A few of us are meeting at High Beech in a couple of Saturdays.

My mate Roger with the Ninja (now Blade) should be there who you might remember from the LB 2008 Brands Hatch Crashday…(I remember B apologising for the many offs (myself included) …“I don’t know what’s gotten in to them”

Hopefully see you out and about.

Keep me posted Eug. How can I forget the brands crash day! We did synchronized crashing lol

good to see you again today and cracking bike you got there
