Where? Always wanted to learn snowboarding did a bit of skiing(12 lessons) on a dry slope when i was 11…but i am a nutter so i want a go at that! just depends where and how much…
I have a couple of spare rooms if some of you want to come out on the 4th or 5th December and return very early on the Monday morning, the 8th. Ski lifts open on the 6th. So 2 days skiing, for the cost of the flight and beer.
ok guys thanks for the input I will certainly start looking into costs then…
I would say Andorra is going to be the cheapest, I’ve been there to Pas De La Casa before I think it is a good start but believe me there is absoultly F.A. to do during the day other then ski/board or drink…
Otherwise I think Tignes is supposed to be quiet cheap and this is france…
I’m not going to have much to spend on the holiday either though so I’m going to try and get it under £200 and obviously the more that come the cheaper it will be…
also what kind of % don’t or do have their own gear again we could probably nego a deal if enough people rent.
I snowboard and will be in Tignes from 28/12 to 04/01 this will be my 7th trip there.
I have organized the last 9 trips snowboarding and it is always cheaper than through an agent.
I have tried all methods…driving, snow train, flying, overnight train and combinations of all the above !
One thing I can say is avoid coach if you can ! the time you lose on the slopes is not worth the money you save…plus I hate buses. If you want any advice etc about going or how to organize feel free to PM me. Especially about Tignes !
Might just be because no one felt safe with you for more than a few hours and having to take their kit off at some point… in case you would take advantage of the situation…
If it’s next winter I might be up for this…don’t think I could face the coach though, if it was france I might consider driving - if I’ve got wheels by then - or I’d rather fly… oh and the resort would nead a toboggan run, I’m not a skier, I wasn’t with 2 arms, and I don’t think things will have improved now I only have one:)
As I have said before I have a place on the Portes du Soleil, which is the largest ski area in the Alps.
I have access to many different types of accommodation at cheap rates that can be booked direct with the owners which is the cheapest way of doing things.
Depending on how many people are going will depend on the cost of getting there.
A lot of private owned places have mini buses and do free transfers from the airport, so you will have no transport once you are there, but all you have to pay for is the flight!
Otherwise, fly and rent a vehicle, the rental is the most expensive! or self drive.
Hey, i def up for this one. Just brought my own set of borad and binders as well!!!
WASP - how bout you do some lessions up Brentwood on the dry slope - the guys up there are pretty cool. Just watch out for a guy call Paul, he can get a bit funny sometimes. It’s only £90 for lessions (set of 3 for 2 hours). Plus, i come down there one afternoon when you on there x
