Voyeurism

I’ve been living in London for about 8 months now, and I’ve seen my fair share of loons and sights… but today was different, i was genuinely shocked…I got onto a number 8 bus today at poultry in the city today at about 1:20pm and was sat at the back of the bus… at the same stop a girl gets on, fairly attractive, shortish skirt, wearing black tights and a black top that was sort of low cut but not that revealing…

anyhow, next stop, a fella gets on and sits next to me and opposite this girl… he gets his phone out and me being nosey i look at what he’s doing - he then disables his key tones and goes to the camera on the phone and starts taking photos of this girls boobs and legs and that…he must have taken 4 or 5 photos…

i thought that was just F**ked up…i really did… I was sat there thinking, should i say something to him, or to her…but then i thought, what if he’s got a knife in his bag or what if he is a nutter… In the end i didn’t say anything, but i think that given all the agro in london at the minute and people getting knifed, i shitted out of saying anything… which was probably wrong of me…

just wondering if anyone else has seen anything like this on a bus or tube before? or am i just over-reacting thinking it was messed up?

i can see your point on not wanting to confront him, you are either confident in doing it or you are not, but i would have shown him up for the f$%&ing tw@t he was.

hmm sounds a bit suspect really.

When your in such a confined space its a tricky one as there is no back up as such, if you could get him outside then at least there is a get out if ever needed. You have to look at what could actually happen here. I guess you could have embarrassed him at the most at the situation. I know that if you had tried to touch or accuse him he would have either hit back or flat denied it. Then where would you have been? A pissed of guy and an embarrassed girl. Hmm maybe this would have been a good time to chat her up?

I have seen on TV a guy who got done for taking pictures up woman’s skirts. They caught him in the act and checked his camera to find he was a serial photographer up woman’s skirts.

I guess we see lots of weird things and we measure them at the time, if they really need acting on then lets hope we do follow through.

Just as a thought. What you should have started to do was. get your camera out don’t put it on silent and take a picture of him. Then he asks what you are doing, you say, oh im sorry I thought it was ok to take pictures of strangers! lol

Thats a good one… I think it was the confined space that put me off saying anything… and too be honest, I usually would have said something, i generally do when I’m in these situations, but in this one, it was just a bit random!

He probably does that a lot, there’s a few of these guys ot there, and if he’s got the balls to do that sitting next to someone, I’d say he’s done it before. And what’s not to say he takes sneaky photos of schoolgirls, too, as too often happens. I would have had to say something or get the driver to contact the police. Even if he deleted the photos on his phone, the police would find them. He’d be put on the Sex Offenders’ register for what he’s done. There’s taking a sneaky photo of something funny, or someone picking their nose on the bus, and then there’s deliberately taking sexual photos that he’s gonna get a bone over later. It’s wrong.

When I was at school I went to this drama group. Found out a year or two later that one of the people who ran the group used to like taking photos up girl’s skirts. It grosses me out when I think back to my time at the group.

If you confront that kind of behaviour, I think the most likely thing to happen is that he’d scurry off the bus as quick as posible in embarassment and in fear of being apprehended.

I’d have said to the fella “Can you bluetooth me that one?”;):D:D

Did you see if the girl noticed what he was doing.

I wouldn’t be too worried about some bloke on a bus, think how many cctv cameras there are, tfl, british rail, local councils, even up here. Seen several articles where the operators have been done for pointing them at young girls.

The country has gone cctv mad, doesn’t seem to help reduce crime either nor does it help when your bike/car is stolen, the owners won’t let you near the footage and the police don’t have time to look at it.

oh dear thats a bit off.

If it can be done safely I would suggest moving away, keeping the male in sight, and either contacting the bus driver and ask him to call for police on his radio (they’re not always very helpful on this score - they have timetables to keep to you know) or calling 999 on your phone. Then hopefully - the police can arrive speak to the male, and the victim if she’s still there, and sort this bloke out

When someone gets robbed, it always seems the cctv camera nearby was pointing in the wrong direction… maybe at an attractive woman, who knows?! But yeah have heard stories about people being fired for using cctv cameras for the wrong reasons. Makes you feel warm inside knowing there’s people like that in those kind of jobs, don’t it?Maybe I’m sour because noone takes sneaky photos of me lol

Damn, caught again.

when i was in college, was sitting around with some friends and aqquantances, a guy heard my ringtone and wanted it so i passed over my phone so he could take what he wanted…he gave me his just incase there was anything i wanted.when going through his phone there about 20 picture of different woman asleep on the tube…WTF?! i asked him “wha gwan” and he said he thought they were pretty so he took pics…now that is some crazy frucked up shite. im putting it down to the fact that camera phone wer relatively new then so maybe he got over excited and start snapping…but it still send shivers down my spine remembering going though pic after pic after pic

How do you know ? :stuck_out_tongue: You might be in somebody’s collection

yeh, best thing.
who knows what people like this have stored on their hard drives at home.

Oh yes… nothing like a quick sec 18 to sort things out:D

not true, we use cctv constatnly to help us, its one of the main helps when people all of a sudden ‘forget’ details and take back statements.Ive been a fan of cctv since since it helped nail the two lil skinhead f*cks who decided to bash my mates head in with an aluminium pole at 3am because he dared to hold his boydriends hand! Town centre full of people, no-one saw anything!
