Got loads of these vouchers emailed to me last year from various people. Lets hope, for the girls on LB, that I my mate gets me the Coast voucher again this year! :slight_smile:

er, sorry to be a bubble burster, perhaps, but a lot of these wine “offers” are a discount on a prieviously very, very overpriced wine.

If that’s an across the board deal, fine. If it’s targetted at particular wines, know what your buying.

Watch Sainsbury in particular. Half price on sht is just cheap sht. It’s still not good.

Yes, but since these stores usually sell everything at 3-for-2 prices, and the 3-4-2 deals can’t be used with this voucher, it’s only actualyl offering you 7% more discount that you could get every day.

It’s a great scheme for the retailer, as it’s more eyecatching than 342, but oldguy’s point is really the key to it all.

In these days of falling house prices (they said it could never happen), falling stock markets (they said they were a one way bet), collapsing Icelandic banks (they said they were guaranteed) etc, people need to pay a bit more attention to things that offer something for nothing. Panto season’s coming up. I’d suggest that Jack and the Beanstalk is a good story to consider the next time you see an offer that looks just too good.

I know nothing is a bargain unless you need or perhaps just want it.
When I want champagne, I prefer it with 40% off!

ps - Not everything is 3 for 2 in Threshers. I am sure people can figure out for themselves whether there is any point in using this voucher and it’s not like I am recommending a dogdy loan shark offering a pre-Christmas incentive :stuck_out_tongue:

But it is still more discount than you would normally enjoy.
Personally, I don’t use Threshers anyway as their prices are normally a little high - I prefer to use the small booze shops because they often offer a better deal.
