Does anyone remember the US CIVIL WAR Gum Cards , from way back in the sixties, (1965) ?

Just looking around on flee bay and came across them.

I remember them having (fake) confederate money in them when they first came out and people was spending the money in the shops, then they stopped putting the money in.

There is no mention of money in any of them on e-bay.

Is it my memory letting me down or am i right ?

DO I remeber them - you bet,

They all had confederate money in them and a piece of carboard like ‘chewing gum’ that was so brittle I’m sure it was formica…

They sold around 1965-66 ( as I remember )

Favorite one showed a soldier who had a cannon fall on his leg - very gory but we 8 year olds loved em!
