Hi guys, got a problem with the LC4 and absolutely HAVE to sell it in the next couple of weeks otherwise things are going to get very difficult.
So, basically it has an intermittent starting problem. Sometimes it sparks, sometimes it doesnt. Tried new coil, new loom, new battery, new spark plugs, valve clearances, even new oil and filter. Am really at my wits end and I HAVE to sell it. Been asking mates for AGES to come and help and keep getting let down.
Can someone who actually knows what theyre doing and the nuances of KTM hissy fits please come and help, or recommend a good KTM mechanic in Surrey as it absolutely MUST be sorted. We thought we had, but its still doing/not doing it. This is the only (and unfortunately terminal) problem with it.
Please please please, hoping there is someone out there willing to try :crying: I am willing to pay for the right kind of help in order to get it into shape to sell for full price.
Maybe give Paul from (ex)Bracken a call:

Bracken is gone, but he’s kept the workshop as an independent, and he seems to have lightened up a bit too
Very nice chap once you get passed the moody front.
Good luck!
Contact Lee at Surrey Supermotos ( Mr.Tattoo ) he is LC4 guru.
Just a thought, and I’m sure you had it already, but I assume you’ve checked/swapped the HT lead & cap?
Failing HT cap is a very common cause of intermittent running. Another possibility is dodgy earth. Make sure earth braid is sound and terminal surfaces are clean (battery negative to frame). May also be dicky kill switch/button.
Or worn away/damaged coil windings caused by the flywheel if the mains are worn.
Lets hope it’s not this though.
Or perhaps failing pulse generator/dodgy connection?
(There’s nothing quite like an intermittent fault to drive you completely up the wall - can end up replacing the entire bike!)
Also check that your battery is sound! and the above post, the problem is that these items are difficult to check as they can show the correct resistance reading but still be shagged , good luck !
