upaid penalty charge - never parked there!!!

just got a letter through saying that i have an upaid penalty charge,

the thing is that i have never parked at the location mentioned or have i received a NPC!!

the amount they are asking is £185

can I request photographic evidence of the bike in question?

Guiliano you are usually good with information for things like this

Write saying you were not at that location, and ask what evidence there is that you parked there. Make it clear that as you are innocent you will be pursuing your rights of review and appeal to the utmost and taking the matter up with your MP. Copy to your MP and saying that innocent citizens should not have to put up with this sort of random harassment by the authorities and ask what they are doing to defend your rights to to a law abiding peaceful existence?

If you get the details you can actually go online and see the bike.
You go onto the council’s website and use the ticket number and your reg.

The parking wardens always take pictures nowadays.

Its quite cool and you can see what the bike really is…

Uncool to see your bike on there with a ticket though…

thanks guys will phone them and ask for details they must have like:

bike make, colour time etc

and then write for an appeal!

Mate, what a perfect answer!

I got a series of emails from a chap called adam blair from [email protected]. seems like a decent chap and sent me nine or 10 tips. Here’s a sample: All speed pacing police cars have to have their Speedo’s
measured and certified. Typically, ONLY traffic police cars are
calibrated, and the Speedo will have increments of 1 mph. If
you are stopped by a NON-traffic officer, and told that he/she
followed you, and you were speeding, simply ask as a matter of
course when his Speedo was last calibrated. It is likely he
will let you go
when you ask this question since normal police
(Beat) cars do not have certified Speedo’s; theirs is the same
as yours and mine! –
send him a note and i presume he’ll send you what he sent me. It’s a fair amount of material but may be useful.

Simply challenge the validity of the notice and ask them for proof… simple as that.

No need to threaten action or any such things. Just make a clear, unemotional statement of fact, i.e. you weren’t parked in the claimed location at the alleged time and that you require them to provide proof of said parking offense.

also be advised it might be cloned plates so the bike might look very similar to yours so you might need independent verification that you werent there that day

load of crap and if you ask they will prob give you a ticket instead of a warning and sending you on your just for trying to be a smart arse.
