last year I paid and didn’t end going due to weather so this year I am going to wait and see how it is. Good to know that we can pay on the day, much better. Then again I didn’t mind the paying and not going… money went to a good cause.
If your making your own way to Excel there are problems to the west of Excel at Lower Lea Crossing which may be closed. Either go to the canning town roundabout and enter via the Excel West entrance or carry on up the A13 and go down the A1020 to enter at the East Entrance.
Having abit of trouble with my bike (wont start!). Think something is draining the battery that shouldnt be… if I can get it fixed/ work out the problem, I’ll be a High beech in the morning, if not I might have to give it a miss… cant be jump starting the bike everytime we start after we’ve stopped!!! Just went for a ride out and everything was fine. Stopped in a petrol garage, went to restart it 5 mins later and it was dead (completely)! Jump started it and managed to get home (40 min ride) took the keys out to open the garage door to put ‘her’ away and it wouldnt start again. Surely the battery should have recharged itself a bit if I’ve riden on it for 40 mins??? anyway… we’ll see… you know whats happened if I’m not there in the morning… I’m gutted.
Milo, we meet at the tea hut on the heath, on the main shooters hill road going into London, I’ll pop out soon to get some fuel so may well head up to Blackheath, shall we say 12.30ish?
I suspect many of you on the Unity Ride are still riding I am afraid I got separated from it in Earls Court and after several unmarked junctions gave up looking for it. Thanks to everyone involved in organising it, especially to the USRs and the Police, and of course to everyone who took part. 55 USRs is clearly not enough!
Well i guess it was a success and well done to all those involved. Having said that me and fishy jumped ship just before chelsea, just couldn’t keep up the snails pace with numerous long stops doing nothing any longer.
I know its all part of the spectacle but the ride is too big if everyone is policed into lines of 2 a breast, i think the organizers may poss have to re-think their strategy cos for the most part it was not too enjoyable.
This is not in any way a criticism of the hard work put into this event and the onlookers seemed to enjoy the show but i think i may donate the £5 next year but have a run down to the coast instead.
