Unbelievable!

I just got told about this today by one of my neighbours…It seems the police are putting a lot more effort into catching kids nicking £300 push bikes than they are into catching organised gangs nicking motorbikes worth thousands!

It amazes me that they can justify putting this much effort into arresting bicycle thieves but the motoring public, both car and bike owners, who pay huge amounts of taxes to fund the roads(and pavements) that the cyclists use get nothing in return!

They do this all over the place. They get given rigged bikes that you can’t peddle - and so can’t escape on…

I can see what you’re saying but to be honest catching one theiving git is better than catching none at all…

Pushbike thieves of today could be sports bike thieves of tomorrow i guess…

It appears to be a more localised problem and policing initiative. Maybe LB can use it as an opportunity to do some lobbying to encourage plod to look at adopting these same principals and putting together a team to target motorcycles theives in the same way.
