You’d probably want a flyscreen at the least. I rode an ER-5 to Glasgow without one and I stopped at the Hein Gericke on Great Western Road when I got within a few miles of home.
After about 140-150 miles you’ll need a stretch, juice and pee - I don’t know if I could continually ride 250 mile tanks like some folk do. I’ve only done that once really riding back from Paris via Calais - not an awful lot of fun.

I thought I had bad MPG. 50 on motorways and 30-35 with city riding. 150 miles at 50MPG.
