Tubed Tyres Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

2 Puctures in 9 days…

Yeah I had that earlier in the year, welcome to SM’s! We’ve all considered moving to cast wheel like Mad-Dog, but some of us are riding pieces of art so we have to accept the limitations:P

I was out finding some lanes out past Beaconsfield, found some pukka one’s (watch this space for the new westside BCR ) went round a bend, fort this dont feel good, pulled over got a 4 inch nail in back tyre.

Phoned my KTM 24 hr advice line, and managed to get some spray gunk to put in it…never worked, so rode about 30 miles on a flat :ermm:

Seemed great over 40 mph :Whistling:

Think I need to get some breakdown-recovery

So do the tubeless spoked wheels off the 690 smc fit, I’d rather stay spoked…

If not what cast wheels will fit straight on my 625 ?

So what sort of art we talking Sneak’s, defo aint modern :stuck_out_tongue:

Alpina make tubeless spoked wheels, they’re probably a bit lumpy though:

You can even get them in orange too

Think I’d have to sell a kidney to get them :w00t:

Cool looking wheels though

I think the way forward is probably to just get some recovery cover, I dont really want to go down the road of cast wheels and any tubeless spoked wheels are gona be sooooooooo expensive

.

Look out for the 4mm inner tubes, a friend of mine has just come back from the Americas tour 3 months without one puncture.

If you run a tubeless set up it will be no good off road as you will not be able to lower the pressures.

Realy? why not? I run cast wheels but i dont realy lower the pressure when i go offroad.

Think the Duke 2 wheels should fit straight in. If i wasnt building another bike id sell you a set

ASBO stop posting! I’m getting email every time you do

I’ll bare them in mind, if I keep getting punctures

From previous experince they always seem to come in 2’s or 3’s then you dont seem to get them for years, thing is I aint been riding in all the sh*t round london where the cars dont go…this last one was on a country lane

I’m gona sort out some recovery cover and see how it go’s

Somebody told me that if you have a spare tube, the recovery people will fit it rather than tow you away. I always carried spares all the time I had the XT, but never had a puncture (probably because I carried spares  ).
I used the heavy duty ones though, not sure how much difference they make.

I’ll ask my Mate who’s a AA man, think thats who I’m going with, said He’d sort me out a deal.

Had a qoute for 4mm tubes today, £15 each + fitting, been hearing they help reduce the chances

No they need a spindle made up for the front but rear will fit in no probs
