Trousers for summer

Sorry folks, this is another boring post about summer gear. When it is this hot what do you wear? I need the best protection possible, so should I go for leather? Are the Kevlar jeans any good?
My held fabric trousers, even with thermal lining removed are way too hot.

You can get knee armour for draggin jeans which would make them a lot safer for you

Thanks evil, is that what you wear?

Thanks Tiggi, I will look into it. Prob take a trip to Getgeared and see what they’ve got.

you can get mesh trousers, like jackets. not sure they’re as good for letting air in but a few brands make them so there will be differences.

Jeans will be good but be warned. Jeans that have the full kevlar lining from waist to below knee are extremely hot!

Leathers are fine if you are moving.
Agree that fully lined Kevlar jeans are too hot commuting to the extent that you lose concentration.
On really hot days I risk standard jeans commuting.

my draggins only have the kevlar on the contact points. I do feel a little exposed without any armour also.

Recently yes, and I have some kevlar ones as well, but this (regarding to some laboratory research) is better material for this purpose, furthermore the “safety material” covers almost whole trousers (except last 15 cm bottom of the leg, so where the boots are).

You can upgrade them with some knee and hip protection (as you have pockets for it armour) and you not very far from leathers.

During commuting I could do with kevlar jeans with not much armour (knee, hip so contact points) if it is longer ride, unfortunately leathers.

Obviously I don’t want ever try how good my gear is.

V useful input, thanks guys. Had a quick visit at hein gericke hanger lane and they had v little ladies stock. Will check infinity tomorrow and if not Getgeared.

I currently have two pairs of RedRoute jeans and they’re can get a bit warm waiting for traffic sometimes. I’ve recently tried a pair of Furygan and they were much thinner/lighter and came with knee armour, might be worth a look. Haven’t thoroughly tested either but I only wear them around town where I do under 30 anyways cough so the kevlar should be OK.

Please do read this, it is boring but will give you better understanding of materials.

Ok thanks Evil for mine of knowledge. Read it.
