Hmmm. Slightly tricky one this. The bike is in lovely condition, but the throttle cable is a bit iffy with the oxford grips… I might take those off and fit the Triumph grips I still have at home if they will fit… Throttle grip seems to shift on the throttle spline and jam open. Not what I want riding a bike. So I will strip it down and have a look. Choke is nice and smooth.
This is going to be a lovely bike once it is up and running!
I had the same with my Tucano Urbano grips… Had to loosen one of the cable ties holding them in place but then the material rubbing made the shutting of the throttle a bit slower.
Just stripped the throttle down. Cable had slipped off the guide. I’ll drip some 3-1 oil down the cable as well as it is a bit stiff.
Drained carbs, petrol switch in off position. Will try again tomorrow.

Took beast for MOT today. Failed on binding rear caliper, so a very easy fix! Quite happy with that as it is really in great nick. Just sorting the battery and away it goes. Insurance for a year is £106 TPFT with Zero NCB. Cannot add to other policy as that is a single bike policy, but not a big deal. At least it is almost legal to ride! MOT and then Tax.
Makman can You check if this will fit is a P/N A9608006 I checked on line and it shows that is for sprint, but I ordered tgis for my 900. Pics below
I’m only seeing that it is for a 595/955i as well. I’ll ask on Triumph Torque quickly.
I checked this on couple websites and shows me so many models that I’m confused now.
According to guru’s on Triumph Torque it won’t fit. Best to stick it on Ebay then. But huge thanks for the offer, extremely kind of you.

No worries at all. Very kind of you to offer. My pads are now on the way to me, I just need to clean the caliper and fit the pads and it will be all ready for the MOT retest next week! Very exciting times! Lovely lovely bike to ride with that Triumph Triple sound. Hugely addictive!
Nothing can beat this sound stick one of triumph race cans and will be even better.
