Engine went a bit wobbly back in June or July, carried on riding it carefully until August Bank Holiday week, transmission disintegrated so the whole thing went ot PDQ for TLC.
So, got another engine that was in a bike, a PDQ 1300 conversion that had done 3k in 5 years since conversion. That was all done in September and it blew up shortly after on the M40. It turned out that the previous owner hadn’t run it in at all in those 3k miles and there we were thrashing it… oops.
Finally, all is made better again and I collect it tomorrow or Friday. Major differences since around April are now:
Aftermarket large radiator
40mm Mikuni flatslides
1300cc big-bore kit
Gas-flowed heads
High Comp pistons
Carillo rods
Reworked gearbox
Aftermarket oil cooler kit
Hindle 4-1 zorst with round carbon can
Gone are the slash-cuts that used to turn a pillion blue in traffic, and hello all this other kit. When I ride off into the sunset, I’m restricted to 4000 rpm for 400 miles and another 500 rpm for each 100 miles thereafter. Should finish running in after 1500 miles, so I’ll be creeping around at subluminal speeds for a while… in fact, slower than your average 125 for quite a bit.
havent seen you for ages fella!! be great to see ya!! and the beast…never seen such an impressive trike, so she was fast before…now she gonan be even faster!!
