track schools around these parts

Hi all.

I am looking for a track school and was hoping some of you have some experience with this. i was thinking about california superbike but keith code strike me as a bit of a hippie bs’er, it is far way, only has classes on weekdays, and is expensive as all hell. still, they seem to be the school of choice. does anyone have any suggestions? i am just looking to become a better rider, not faster around a track.

thanks

e

I can thoroughly recommend Cali superbike school, much of what they teach applies to the road also. If only from the point of view of understanding the mechanics of cornering. I think the ron haslam school is cheaper.

Bear in mind that most tracks in the dry season are taken up by racing, so chances are that schools can only use them during the week…

If you want more road training I would suggest IAM/RoSPA etc…

Like Biggus the CSS get my vote too. Dont be mistaken by Keith Codes hippie looks or his mispent past, hes helped many world champions and still is still helping top riders across the world as well as 1000s of road riders.
A cheaper option is a Chequered Flag day at Mallory 6th July with Focusedevents.com. Its a trackday combined with off track tuition with 5 or 6 riders per instructor. Ill be instructing then, check out the Trackday section here.
