Not the cleanest of glue lines but should bed in nicely enough - who’s gonna see it anyway?

You post bloody great pictures and ask “Who’s going to see anyway.” ?
Seriuosly, I’m with you on all of this. I’m a tight old git and all for giving the cheap fix a go.
You can always defend your actions using the “green” and “re cycling” arguments when the consumer spendaholics try taking the p*ss.
Cheers mate - i’ve got flu at the moment so i’m bored and sleeping tonight isn’t an option when your nose is like a tap!! Never saw the irony in posting the pics and saying “who will see anyway!” LOL
Oh well, I guess that’s the flu for yah!!!
Dont get me wrong, some people say tight wad but i just love figuring problems out for myself - i figure that if i get it right ive saved a packet and if its wrong THEN i’ll pay top wack for the pros to turn up. Until now things have always worked out - take this flat for instance - i practically did everything in it just by reading books and browsing the net.
As far as the environment / re-cycling is concerned then I dont really subscribe. Controversial I know but I reckon the jury is still out on that one…and even then i dont like being told what to do!
Good on ya.
Thanks for the tip!

Nice one m8 ! I got some boots to fix aswell. Can you tell us where did you do it ? Address or telephone number ? Thanks
i think i’d have gone for a loop pile instead of a cut pile as you do tend to get tracking from footprints.
Bit of mixed feelings about the re cycling. Bottles being re melted is b***ocks once you factor in tranport and so on.
The old milk bottle solution of steralise and re use was re cycling, anything else is a sop
Keep going on the DIY. The world needs more tightwads like you and me. Together we can change…er? um? Nothing?
Can I do a similar job on my tyres? Vibram soles look pretty grippy but Doc Martin`s Airsoles might cope better on diesel spills, they are surosed to resist all kinds of chemicals.
Any thoughts?
:PI dont know if you’re kidding or not but I did them myself mate - see my earlier post entitled “Top Tip No.3” ![]()
Good to know you thought it was a professional job though! ![]()
Good luck!
PS - remember to get the thinnest rubber you can or you’ll have to adjust your gear pedal to compensate for the extra height.

:D:):D:)
BUY SOME NEW ONES!!!JESUS
Nah it’s a great idea! I’m with you on the figuring stuff out for yourself thing, much more fun and usually an awful lot cheaper (And sometimes better :D)
Nice one!
I guess some people have money to burn!
Good luck on your test mate!
WoodsterR1. What’s the problem?
Some of us don’t have money falling out of our pockets. Some of us don’t feel inclined to pay £ lots for stuff made in China for £ very little.
I’m friggin overjoyed to find that there is someone out there still prepared to make and mend.
How do I fix this?

You don’t. They are well known for doing this. It happened to mine but it was much bigger than yours and quite dangerous. Just chop it up. I had a hammock post put in its place.
Well if yer offering…Some people might be able to drop 150 on some new boots, but paying 20 to get mine resoled so I get an extra year out of them is good for me!
