TomTom Europe Maps

Can anyone copy me tom tom europe maps?? i can supply an SD card i have the original tom tom the one like a little telly with the SD card in the front, i have my eye on a couple on Ebay but they go for silly money because as far as im aware you cant by them anymore

cheers

what size SD card do you have?
as the file available to me ; TomTomGO Western and Central Europe Map v720.1803

comes in at 1.7gb, which seems rather large

I dont have a SD card at the moment but if i have to get a 2gb card i will, to be honest i only need western europe but i wil have the whole lot if its easier?? its better than shelling out £40 quid on Ebay

will see if I can copy it from mine, got tomtom XL europe and tomtom GO730 with it on

memo to self…flog the XL

I think you need a activation code to start using it, when you put SD card in for the first time it gives you a unique code based on the tomtom serial no and the map you purchased. You need to give tomtom this code to activate the map.

Unless somebody has a way round it?

I’ve got it on mine Si, not sure how you can transfer it but you’re welcome to try

Yep you’re right…And to get the activation code, you have to contact TomTom and purchase a licence.

That is unless someone has made a Keygen :Whistling:

seen on em ebay with the activation code for 40 odd notes looks like thaT may be the way… cheers anyway people still better than shelling out 300 notes for a new tom tom… i dont even want to go to france :frowning:

Make sure you know what exactly what you are getting. An activation code will be useless because the activation code is generated by TomTom once they know the product code generated by them for your license, and the unique device code your satnav/PPC/Phone generates. An activation code will only allow the map to work on the device that the code was generated for.

What you need is a product code. Note that to stop piracy product codes are locked for I think it is six months after two activations and can then only be unlocked by TomTom if you show them a genuine reason (such as receipts or confirmation that the previous device has been replaced under warranty etc).
