A few people asked on the ride today about my satnav…well, it is a cheap standard satnav, thrown in a tank bag and attached to this genius gizmo to give it an extra 10 hours battery life
Hope that saves some of you a few quid!

I use an old car satnav with one of these battery packs
Same concept, but it comes with several connectors and you can get more so it will power all sorts of things, not just the satnav.
Geni -and indeed, actual - us
rather simple but smart of someone to put the 2 together
The one I linked to charges from USB, and will power/recharge anything that is powered through a USB lead.
why not just wire in a 12v socket ?
andyou can also get a convertre that has a usb socket on it that works from cigarette lighter socket
tesco were doing a twin cigarette lighter socket extension with a usb port inc for £1.83 …just change the lead ends and wire to battery or ign feed … mount it somewhere and there you go … no flat sat nav/ phone/ ipod etc etc
My bike already has a 12v socket as standard. But why have cables etc, when the battery pack simply velcros to the satnav and will last all day?
just fitted couple of 12v sockets to my 1 on fairing near clocks n 1 under seat much easier that way you can charge up MP3 player/phones etc
+1 Got a 12v Adapter as well easier as i don’t hv to worry abt charging batteries etc
Use it for my Sat Nav and Bullet Cam
A few people asked on the ride today about my satnav…well, it is an easy way to find ponds if you need to:)quote]
