Tomorrows rideout

As my post in my rideout thread, and Pms ive sent Looks like a washout with pretty much torrentiol rain for the southeast all day i see little point in going ahead, I’ll reschedule this rescheduled ride again, sorry people :frowning:

if i wake up in the morning and the wankers have got it totaly wrong then I’ll salvage something from the day!!!

let the fair weather jokes commence…

Totally understand mate - no point in heading out in a large group if the weather is rubbish.

Let’s see what the weather is doing…

NOOOO I fitted out my bike!

too right f~*cking fair weather riders!!!

You bunch of pancies.

Was disappointed at my own thought of not being able to go, but will look forward to the reschedule of the reschedule.

No fear of riding in all weathers, just dont enjoy the rain and therefore little point.

Wusses indeed. Had a great ride today (USR training) - Rykas were relieved to see us, only 4 other bikes in the carpark on a late May Bank Holiday!

we had good rideout ourselves, never rode through such deep water on flooded roads!Lol

u pansies afraid of a wee bit of water…

It’s a good point - if you don’t deliberately ride in the wet, how are you going to cope when caught in an unexpected downpour? It’s essential to get to know the limits in all conditions.

perhaps you should rename your rideouts flats, to test your waterproofs and wet weather skills thats 2 washouts mate  fingers crossed its 3rd time lucky

It is different strokes for different folks. I am a fair weather biker through choice these days. However I had to ride home from Sussex yesterday in crap conditions, plenty of spray and standing water.

Not difficult but just not enjoyable to me. Was glad to get back and wring myself out. Bike is of course looking like a sh*tter now with no means to clean it till the weekend. So where exactly is the fun in that…???

I find that many all weather heroes I meet nowadays seem to have a stick up their behind about how people who’d rather enjoy the sunshine are somehow not real bikers. I sometimes see these folk on track in novices as I wait to go out in the fast group :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

aha, but on the other foot, a safe rider is one who knows when in their opinion, it is not safe for them to ride, whether that be weather conditions, or personal circumstances.

i think some of you miss point at why i cancelled it, i have done many rides on LB with one of my 1st an evening trip to brighton 30 odd confirmed and was up for it then it lashed it down on the day and only 4 + me turned up, Its not down to the fact i dont ride in the wet or not knowing my limitations and learning about what would happen if i only rode in the dry and what would happen if i did get caught out what would i do?? I have ridden plenty of times in the wet and gone out and got soaked more than enough times infact only a month or so ago i went out and got drenched I even posted up about it.

The reason i cancelled it was because for me its a group ride taking the community out and doing a ride for all memebers and abilitys, getting a large group out for a giggle and a jolly something that wouldnt happen if you only get a 15% attendance, Id rather have a nicer day more riders a safer group ride and everyone home happy and in one peice…

i think if we all had three wheels jim not two it the saftey part wouldnt be an issue;)

I did my DAS in the rain, couple of wet track days, a track training day in the wet and plenty of road riding in the wet . . . that’s shown me that it’s not pleasant. I’ve got a car for when it’s wet ! :stuck_out_tongue:

Did it rain yesterday?

You guys should have come to Donington;)

quit bashing us with ur handbag :w00t:

yeah its no fun in the wet or any kind of bad weather for that matter;) When i was younger and lived out in the sticks i used to ride in all weathers rain, snow, ice etc lucky to still be here really. There are some who reckon they like riding in adverse weather conditions, but then they probably dont have a car:D

had 2 rides cancelled because of the weather over the weekend.

didn’t complain. no fun riding in the rain i.m.o.

Can do that midweek commuting to work!!!

Will lookout for the update on this run. I was looking forward to it but as you said not fun in the rain. Hopefuly the sun will come out sometime this summer.
