Today, I will be finding out why I crashed....

This morning I have an appointment with the accident investigator, who investigated my off in the Eltham Tunnel on 17/10/08. Hopefully he can explain how I actually crashed, what caused me to lose control, and why I mashed my arm up so bad, but the rest of me was practically unscathed!

Wish me luck…

I certainly do wish you luck.

It will help to put a line under it.

I had a big off at the 'ring a few years back which fortunately I had on video. I watched it time and time again to see what went wrong and work out what I could learn.

Once I’d satisfied myself of the cause it was much easier to move on.

yes will be interesting, still have no idea what happened with my accident…just dont understand it at all…ho hum…

Good luck

it’ll be interesting to see what they come back with. Good luck.

Blooming heck, that 4 months has flown by so quickly:w00t:

I hope this will help you get any monkies you may have off your back mate;)

Any news on your op John?

Hope they can shed good light on the event.

Good luck

Good luck with it.

Good luck hinny!

Yeah, good luck - hopefully there will be light at the end of the tunnel… pardon the pun

this should help u get some closure ,i,think it does help u to move on, best of luck.

nice 1 m8 let us know the outcome.

Good luck john i know how annoying it can be not knowing what happend in an accident the only thing the police investigation officer told me was that it was an accident and the car pulled out on me , i got more info from that medium i saw ,she said he was trying to catch his friend up in a red car , which is actually in the police photos and it has no reason to be there i still have sleepless nights not knowing what happend and why i couldnt avoid it but at least you should find out what happend and why things went wrong

good luck john keep us informed

good luck mate, will be good for you to know? as scottyuk said it will put a line under it.

BTW you may be with a Vee, but you will always be within The Vee Massive me old mucker;)

Good luck John i hope it doesn’t bring back too many bad memories.

GOOD LUCK MATE

I’m back, but not a great deal wiser…

I came off in lane 1, 12 m past the end of the water leak. The bike slid down on it’s off side, until near the exit of the tunnel where it dug in and spun off into lane 2 where it came to rest. I finished up at the exit in lane 1. My right hand was 1/2 way between the first impact on the floor and where I finished up. My speed was somewhere between 58-65mph. The only witness who saw me come off couldn’t say what caused it but she wasn’t very reliable. She describes the bike as cart wheeling down the road - which obviously didn’t happen. Witnesses have described my riding just before the accident as normal, normal speed, making normal progress.

The Accident investigater can only guess as to why my arm was so badly damaged… there’s no marks on my clothing or the bike to suggest it got caught up in the wheel or any other moving part of the bike. Probably just got caught under the bike as it slid, or broke badly on impact due to putting my arm down as an automated response to falling over.

Hope it wasn’t too traumatic this morning John.

Sounds like there was nothing you could have done to avoid what happened, which I guess puts your mind at rest.

Hope this helps you close the door on this horrible event.

Take it easy.
