Just witnissed a couple of guys measuring our bay outside the shop…hmmm methinks…pop outside and ask what they are doing and…suddenly they go all sketchy and say that they are just marking out where all the bays are in our area!!!..I get the feeling that they want to reduce the number of bays and put more car bays in to make more money…and also as the block opposite us is turning into swanky flats they need more resident parking…looks like we are getting screwed again!

Don’t know where you’re based, but in Kensington & Chelsea they were thinking of changing their bikebays so that the size is the same, but at the end, there will be 1-2 bays only for residents’ bikes. As if the PAs will bother checking the permits… I suggested they allow residents to park their bikes in P&D bays at any time, but no luck!

) lives in Hammersmith I can park for free in the resisent bays without a permit! Do that in most other boroughs and SLAP £50 please!!! Why cant all boroughs be the same! I mean Ealing where I live there are 2 bike bays…TWO! And they are both crap!

The BMF team are on all the stakeholder groups so we get to know about every single change that the council is planning to the road layouts, including bay etc
Hammersmith and Fulham is one of the most bike friendly boroughs actually. Good on them

babyJ, surely your company can tell the council to piss off, because you need the bays for your business, and surely your business pays a lot more in business rates to them, than the parking bays could ever pull in. Simple logic!
Nah, Gt Portland St is in the City of Westminster. YOu can check this on the street name signs, they always list the council.

There are two bike bays in Ealing, wow I only thought there was one lol. Thats Ealing Council being very generous there lol.

Ealing Browdway has 2 bike bays.
One is next to the cinema in the little cul-de-sac.
The other is on the slip road leading to the park.
West Ealing has designated motorcycle bays in their pay and display car parks. One at the back of Woolworths, and one off the uxbridge road near the job centre.
One next to Ealing Common Station too.
There is actually quite a few in and around Ealing Broadway. Theres one just by Pitshanger Manor Museum opposite The Green Bar, there’s another around the back of Town Hall Annex, up near Ealing Common theres one… There’s a Car Park on Spring Bridge road which lets you park your bike in for free in the designated area, just talk to the bloke in the office. He’ll be fine, hes a biker himself!! There’s also another just across the road from Perceval House in a cul-de-sac area by the traffic lights… And on Longfield Ave just as you come up it off Uxbridge Road near ‘The Village’…
