those who jump red lights...

red means go

another idiot…
lock him up!.

bit melodramatic though, I would love to hear what BMW screams its engine at 47mph…cant even hear mine at maximum revs in 1st…

Just proves that the truth is not what the man who got knocked over is telling…

just because he’s a famous boxer with a bit of money and compensation will be on the cards next, dont mean he is guilty…

I think we have already proven that the man knocked over is a liar…

mine doesn’t scream either - no sound satisfaction from it :hehe:

… Probably because you are inside it.

Is this the same boxer who had a head on collision whilst drunk and ran away from the scene . . was eventually caught and jailed for it ?

no, that was naseem hamed!..don’t think he was drunk though - just showing off his AMG merc.

I got to agree with the screaming noise and not hearing it if you’re inside the car.
Any car in first accelerating to 47 sounds pretty loud when its coming at you, so I think calling the man a “liar” because of his perception and description of his experience and the fact that it’s different from your experiences from a completely different perspective is pretty thin…

OK, only my opinion and you’re welcome to disagree with me too.

hey dont disagree about perceptions

do diasgree that a car at 47mph will be screaming, think he must have heard the pedestrians screaming at him not the car and as they say he did walk into the cars path…

lack of information on our part makes any synopsis impossble. So to be exact on the information given, I dont believe the screaming car story and I do believe he is exagerating…that to me means he is aiming for big compensation…but its just my opinion.

Are cars noiser to the front of the car or to the rear…my guess is to the rear…where the exhaust is…again sounds like yet another rich kid being persecuted in the press rather than a measured and reasonable view of the accident…note that all the comments are from the so called injured party, non from the other side…

I’d be worried if I couldn’t hear an engine revving under load as it sped towards me close enough to knock me over  I’d also be after severe prosecution for breaking several traffic laws, let alone in a built up area. Bit of the discipline he uses in his boxing wouldn’t have gone amiss on the road having read the circumstances this happened in

ah but we all make mistakes, its just that he made a mistake whilst someone rather foolishly decides to turn around and walk back into his path, i could imagine he(driver) had seen the gap and that if he (the walker) had kept walkig in the direction he had been travelling nothing would have happened but thats just speculation it is true that he (the walker) turned to walk back and walked into the path of his car.

One is oh so quick to condemn…the next thing is we will be believing that papers tell the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth…so help them god…and that they should be voted as our judge and jury…hmm

Did you not read the article? :ermm: Mistakes? :Whistling: wrongly overtook two vehicles in a right-turn only lane as he drove straight-on through the red light. Not necessarily believing the press, but I think the CCTV footage would clear up any confusion for me :satisfied:If and when I get caught being naughty I’d admit my guilt if I’d injured an innocent bod

I see a pattern emerging here. Beemer drivers are quick to jump to the defence of each other, derided by Joe Public much the same as bikers;)

Bit of a trend with boxers, Khan, Prinze Nazeem and don’t forget Eubank killed a bloke a few years ago whilst driving his Range Rover. You want to see the players cars at premiership teams, Bentleys are very popular as are big 4X4’s.

Ped is crossing on a pelican crossing where he has right of way as the traffic lights are red, he’s the last one crossing which would appear to indicate that the lights had been red for sometime, so hardly sounds like a case of the driver attempting to to catch the lights as they changed.

As to getting compensation, that’ll be paid by Khan’s insurance company based on standard injury compensation scales not the boxer’s wealth or how exagerated the story is.

Re the engine noise, where does he say he heard THE BMW’s screaming engine ? What if the car had a race exhaust fitted ? Maybe he did hear the BMW, maybe he heard another car or bike, the mind plays tricks in traumatic experiences, so maybe he just imagined he heard it, doesn’t make any difference to the colour of the lights, the speed of the vehicle or who had the right of way.

As the case is on-going then Khan will have his chance to testify, though he already had a chance to make a statement of his side of the story & declined to so.

Well, I actually had some one drive at me the other night at work, it was a merc and though he was not going supersonic, when a car accelerates towards you at speed, it does and will sound loud to someone who experiences this.

Me and this driver did have a conversation a short time later on which involved a trip to a custody suite.

The theory is actually called perceptual distortion, when a given threat is presented towards you, you will actually see it very different to those around you who are not under threat. That car engine may not have sounded loud to another pedestrian on the footpath but it may have been the loudest thing the bloke who got hit has heard in years.

Noise or no noise the boxer did wrong, so should get done for what he did.

20 years old, BMW and I’ll guarantee it has a “fruity” exhaust sysem too. He jumped a red light and injured a pedestrian, that is the focus of this incident. Does not matter that he is “famous” or a boxer. What matters is that he is a BMW driver and should be prosecuted for that simple fact!:stuck_out_tongue:

yes thats true too…I gave my bmw to one of my staff…I prefer my old landy, my new pickup and the bikes to be honest…cant be doing with cars anymore but will have to get a new car next year for the image…cant have boss showing up on bike all the time…

I just hate people being labelled incorrectly and being penalised for what is really just an accident caused by the pedestrian turning around and walking into the path of the car…but the car driver will be done because he was speeding…but it was not the cause of the accident. or at least thats what it seems…on the evidence we have been given…by the oh so unbaised press…

but cant deny he does drive a BMW…

Labelled incorrectly? The lad was allegedly driving like a ‘knob’ - how is that for a label

So which part of red-light &/or right of way are you struggling to understand ?

Or can we assume from the above, that if a car driver ever jumps a red light & knocks you off your bike, that you’ll pick yourself up, apologise to the driver for causing the accident by being where you were legally entitled to be & offer to pay for his damage ?
