… forced myself to take time out this morning to spend a couple of hours parking my bum on a 675 Daytona…
In the words of Mr. Teutel – AWSOME (Man). And the ******* at the dealership stiched me up by giving me a Graphite one — me wantum reeeeeal bad.
Good points…
Engine was a peach. Not at all what I expected ( thought I’d feel it being that much lower cc, but not at all ). Spankloads of torque throughout. And pulled all the way through - good and strong and fun all the way to 8 grand, then bonkers up to 14k.
It was with road can, which had a nice trick of sounding quiet when in town, but hit 6k and really started to howl ( in that old familiar triple way ). Race can ( only £250 extra ) must sound unbelievable ) Briliant acceleration.
Styling was spot on - as I’m sure you all saw. But for those who didn’t, I find it a bit better in real life than in photos - you getter better aspect on its front which is very sharklike. Graphite definitely the bbest IMHO. Nice attention to detail throughout. Clocks as per 05 SpeedTriple - and think they set the gear change light low to keep people from reving it to nutter level. Nice try!
Front brakes very good ( same rad M/C I’ve just put on mine ). Plenty of feel - just wonder if they’ll suffer the same SP3 gremlins?
And a back brake - that WORKS!! Imagine that everybody Kept on locking up the back.
Handling was great - as expected. Positionwise I felt much more ’ over the front '. Its also a little taller than expected, and very slim ( as expected ). And much lighter - which felt a bit toylike - but reckon you’d quickly aclimatise
Finally - top marks to Rossner - laid back, helpful, nice long talk after the test with not a hint of pressure to sign on the line ( reckon that don’t need to with this bike ) - much better then at Harley / BMW dealerships . Also offered decent tradein on my Daytona.
Now to the spreadsheet - lets see - sell everything. Sell organs I have two of - rent house and move into shed.
