I know of one for sale, 02’ plate, 1500 miles, £1500.
Been sat around for the past few years so would need an overhaul I suspect.
I want to know if it’s something worth considering as I don’t know much about these bikes and the guy isn’t advertising but if there is a buyer then he would get rid.
My point of view is if it’s a bargain then perhaps I should snap up? Or is it worth less?
Obviously I would part own this with Jaime as it’s probably a bit greedy having 3 bikes
Nice tards the Bergs, I don’t know much about them myself but I would go on here and ask questions, or look at the existing threads before buying one if I was you:
I’d say it’s all relative, if you check Visor down there’s 5 owner reviews on there most are good, one goat a lemon or didn’t look after it properly…I would have thought that judging by the other bikes you guys have this would be a bike purely for fun, and occasional use, so, may be fine anyway
Check out the second review it lists the issues they’ve had and what to look for…
Oha and it does sound like an enormous amount of fun
I’ve always been told for greenlaneing that less is more… 650s will tend to be quite heavy so the more motocrossy, light smaller cc bikes are better… You won’t be able to use the full power of it (I find the same thing with my 625smc). Those tyres also look like tard road tyres (admittedly rugged ones) so might have to budget for changing it back to knobblies?
But tbh 10 years with 1500 miles on a husaberg causes alarm bells to ring for me… I mean they don’t have the greatest reputation for reliability… and that’s putting it mildly! :w00t:
Jerry (JerryXT) has one, but it’s an ex-race bike with a few fancy bits.
From what I gather, they’re great fun, but the engines tend to go pop without notice.
I was speaking to a chap at Lydden Hill who owned one before, and he would do oil changes at lunchtime on trackdays.
So I’d say only get it if you’re ok with regular engine rebuilds and generally high maintenance, if you are, then you’ll have a lot of fun
Oh, mileage doesn’t mean anything. 1500 miles is a lot if it has been trashed all the time. I’d get somebody like Adz to take the engine apart for piece of mind unless you know all its history.
might be cheap but if its in need of a over haul then the bike will start to rack up the bills
there a good looking bike (well not that one ) and very light but need oil and filters do on time to keep it running and dont keep the throttle pin’d too long.
my gym bud got a 2007 berg650 like this pic for £1800
