Think Bike Campaign South Africa: Chairman killed

It is with much sadness that I bring this news to the London Bikers.I’m not sure where to post this…I hope here is OK:

Brian Cannoo, aka “Buccaneer” died yesterday following a motorcycle accident on Saturday in Welkom SA, in which a bus turned across his path of travel.

Buccs was the Founder and Chairman of the Think Bike Campaign, a bike safety campaign in South Africa run and funded by the bikers themselves over 2 years ago. He was a charismatic leader, incredibly popular among bikers and authorities alike, and was also an active contributor to the organisation of the annual Toy Run attended by 20 000 bikers each year to raise toys for underprivileged children.

He is left by his wife Fran and 2 children.

Buccs found many ideas for our TB Campaign from the British Think Bike campaign, and is known by many South African expatriate bikers in the United Kingdom and USA.

RIP Bucc…you gave so much of your life for Thinkbike, to create awareness for motorcyclists and motorists alike, you leave a huge legacy, and big shoes to fill, we miss you man! :crying:.
