Is that the one with the road signs and writing in the dirt on the back of the van?
That one’s been out a little while but I agree it’s a good ad to remind people that country lanes have lots of unseen hazards, even if there is no traffic on the road.
Reminded me of when I did my Bike Safe day in Hampshire, our mentor for the day taught us all about looking for clues that we ordinarily would have ignored. Wheelie bins out on the pavement meaning there was a likelihood of bin men and a bin lorry about, posties bike leant up against a fence, horse sh1t or mud at an entrance could mean a tractor/truck or horses not far away, all things to be prepared for, good stuff and the ad reinforces this.
yeah its been out a while, they just dont show it enough, good one though next they should do one in a city as that totally different riding style and hazards.
Yeah thats the one Tim. I’ve never seen it before and for some of these city slickers it’s a reminder of hazzards like horse poo and mud on the roads can be a killer…literally:w00t:
How do these horse riders manage to get their steeds to sh1t exactly on the racing line?;)
Yeah that ad is at least 3 years old as I saw it at my first Bikesafe in 05. Was my first year of proper biking, where I would potentially be heading out of the shítty city into the sticks, so it was very poignant and useful.
Great advert and I agree, there should be one made for city riding.
would be better than the flippin one with the lamp post accident one.
they even played that in the cinema when i went with my girlfriend and her parents. they’re already worried enough about ‘bikes’ enough without seeing that. i just found myself cringing as the ad started up…
