Things to do when your bike is in hospital

So the bike is in hospital (for the 3rd day running I’ve been told that they’ve not had time to look at it and I should ring back tomorrow).

The question is… what should I do in the time between now and getting the bike back?

So far I have…

  • Go on a holiday
  • Drink
  • Buy another bike
  • Cry into drink
  • Try a bicycle
  • Drink
  • Clean my bike gear (ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha - sorry lost that one)
  • Empty decanter of whiskey

any other ideas?

*Go through all your family photos
*Borrow your sisters weding day video
*Look through the window and wathc if that tree out there is growing leves
*Keep calling the bike shop as ask how your baby is?

lol

You can come and clean my bike if you like cfc? It might help ease the pain…

your bikes in my garage cfc, as you know, its not as bad as it looks, just plastics really, good job for R&G and good job your leathers done, u can help me mid week transfer it to INTENSIVE CARE at Leggys, will be back on road in no time,Leggys already bought some bits

Book your holiday
Empty the decanter
help Pete and JK
Then watch the leaves grow/ maybe with the help of a strange substance
or said decanter of wisky!!!

Whos leathers???

Hope those leathers are cheap , there well scuffed up !!!

price agreed, mint pre accident condition either way they are still better than jeans

ITENSIVE CARE is all scrubbed up ready and waiting, gas and air on stand by

give your walls a new coat of paint and watch it drying

Wonder if ya really did turn that kill switch back off?

Sorry mate…

Try some computer gamne thats vaguey bike orriented.

hehehe - the voice of experience here methinks

So far I’ve gone with…

Going to work on the train
Clutching a copy of the latest bike mag / paper in hand to decalre to all other passengers I’m only on the train out of protest!
Washing my bike kit
Wondering if I did hit the kill switch… mmmm
Calling the garage every day at 2pm since Thursday.

The latest news is

‘sorry mate we had loads of walk ins last week - your bike is on the book for the morning and there’s one more before yours’

so in theory I should have some news before 2pm today - I’m really going to kick myself if it is the alarm as it’s going to cost me a fortune!

Translation “Your custom isn’t that important to us and we don’t have enough staff to cope”

Quite right - although to be fair I had a call at 11am this morning to tell me the bike is fixed (water in the ignition) it’ll cost you £30 sir - to which I respond - surely a warranty job?

But no - apparently water in the ignition is ‘accidental damage’ - sorry Honda - I accidentally took your bike out in the rain - I shall never do it again!

m

WTF, I don’t beleive that for one minute. I would ask what they did for £30.00, if it really was water in the ignition how did it get in and how can you stop it in the future? I would ask for any parts they replaced and would be writing to Honda. Something along the lines of why can’t I ride in the rain ?

Let us know how ya get on. My Ol’ CBR has been out in the rain all year, must get that garage built and has never let me down. I have ridden it in torrential rain with no difficulty, I just find it hard to beleive that your bike let you down for the reason they said.

Refill Decanter and then empty it again !!!

mmm I’ll see what they say tomorrow - update soon

That is a feeble diagnosis, surely they can give you a more detailed explaination!

I’ll surely find out this afternoon when I go pick it up.
