They tried to steal my Bike on Saturday

I did the most stupid thing while attending a picnic at Regents Park. I had my Helmet locked on the Bike and went for the picnic, but forgot my keys on the bike. When I got back to the BIke my Lid was gone and the alarm had been triggered. I’m just glad the bike was not stolen, cos I would have been kicking myself. For all those that think alarms are not worth the hassle, it sure saved my pride and joy from the hands of the opprotunist thief. All in all, I have to replace my lid, gloves, and get my key reprogrammed, cos the scroungers made away with it too.

I just thought I’ll share my story, no matter how silly you may think I am… it’s easily done.

A friend of mine who shall remain nameless did the same thing on Sat night with his gixer. Fortunately it was in a private car park, but still. Many of us have probably done it at some point.

easy done lucky tho

ive done it twice while locking the seat, came back and it was still there, they must have known it was too fast for them.

Done it once at work. Luckily it’s a secured car park.

I now try to go through the same routine everytime I get off the bike.

Take key out, put on seat. Gloves off. Key fob out of jacket and key on.

I then hope not to leave it in the topbox.

So easily done. I’ve even had colleagues walk into meetings with keys I’d left in the bike.

So glad the expensive bit of your biking gear remains with you!

Happened to us in Stratford-on-Avon one Sunday. Lucky it was World Cup footy on TV in the pubs and no low-lifes on the streets, we remembered and went back - key still in hole.

close call

I have one of those coil or spring shape key chains which attaches to my clothing so I never leave the key;)

Hey man sorry to hear that
