oh noooo!
but thank goodness for the cabbie/your neighbour!! also good to see there are people still willing to stand up against thieves, etc
sounds lucky this time shane they just wont give up will they .its great u keep to ride it another day keep a close eye on her
Dude, you need to keep your bike indoors. Either park it in the house, or get a SECURE garage. It’s simply not an option having it publically visible/accessible!
Sorry you had to go through this again
I think Jay’s idea about a SECURE garage for the bike is a very good. You can get a small one just for your bike can’t you?
booby-trapping is a good idea. non-lethal of course but attach it to some high frequency vmit inducing siren and you’ll have em on their knees! better still, advertise the fact you jave a tazer alarm and have it shoot them when they approach the bike
Seriously, the CCTV is the best idea. i have a infra-red set up in my garage on a passive movement sensor to start the recording. most home security sepcialists will be able to advise on components required. It’s not very nice to be living in fear! the government should be doing more!
The thread reads like theyre not using a van.
Agree with 'andrew&7 ’ a top of the range Almax chain with Squire lock and Rhino ground anchor (properly fitted/fixed) will help you sleep a little easier, if you take time to learn how to use them to best effect in securing the bike, rather than just feeding the chain through a wheel.
How is a CCTV system going to stop two blokes with bolt croppers from taking your bike away? You need to physically secure it, not rely on the glimmer of hope that you might get your bike back if you can identify who the people were who stole your bike from the video. The Police are too over worked to look at your tape, and the bike will be gone (broken down or sold on) by the time you aprehended the people by some fluke of luck anyhow. Sorry to sound depressing about this, but I’ve seen it happen all too many times, and I’ve had a bike stolen from myself, which was secured, alarmed and under CCTV cameras.
Keep it out of sight, locked up (properly) and get a tracker fitted. This is the only way to defend your bike against theft, and even then it’s not guaranteed, but then that’s what insurance is for, and if you still can’t afford to replace it, then you’ve let your heart run away from your mind when you bought the bike in the first place.
I agree with Jay, fix the problem first before it becomes an issue.
Can you not get an alarm with a good proximtry sensor that has a really loud siren? That way they would be starteled even before they touched the bike and you ofcourse may hear it well in advance aswell? - Just an idea.
Sunny.
Just sent you a PM wth a solution
You got a k6 1000? does it not have an alarm or does it not work?
Shocks me that they got your bike out of yer garden/yard and you didnt hear it, i.e. Alarm… Took a cabbie and neighbour to tell you?
I know alarms are limited but would have thought nice bike= nice alarm that you will hear if some scrote is wheelying it away form your house with you in.
