The worst riders on the roads in London...

A new group of riders have come to the forefront in my opinion as being consistently the biggest tossers on the roads in London.

No it’s not scooter riders (most of the worst of them aren’t on the roads at the moment as it is still too cold for them).

It’s BMW riders…almost exclusively 1150 and 1200 GS riders. Almost without exception they all ride like absolute cts, typified by the aehole this morning mounted and rode along the pavement to get in front of traffic on Avenue Road heading into Regents Park.

Nearly everyone of them I’ve come across rides dangerously and without consideration for other riders. One of these days one of them is going to get a good feckin’ pasting!!!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand breathe.

Know what you mean, was filtering through traffic the other week and got stuck behind a beemer with panniers who refused to give way to the 5 bikes queuing behind him, despite that fact that we could have got through.

Prat.

And what is going on with the time!?!

its passing…?

Well apparently the post time is an hour ahead.

I was filtering one morning on my way to work and got stuck behind one too - panniers and the lot! - there was another biker filtering the opposite way who was also couldnt get past the beemer.

Eventually the other rider managed to get parallel with the prick whilst he was stationary…can you guess what happened?

Bloke lifted his visor, leaned over to the beemer rider and said “Should have got a bike mate” and rode off!

Friggin classic - I nearly pissed myself!

Whats with riding with Side Paniers on all the time anyway!! Unless going touring/a copper/a courier or your bike is your only mode of transport take the things off!

Use your car at the weekend to go shopping for food or get it delivered by the company you shop with. Surely you cant need 2 or 3 boxes worth of stuff to go to and from work each day!! :stuck_out_tongue:

i’m sure half the time they ride with them on because they are dreamers, wishing they were Charley/Ewan

Idiots

It’s a German, thing.

Top of the list are the Mercedez. I hate the way the drivers, drive.

This followed by BMW.

I think anyone driving or riding theses makes, suddenly becomes a Tiger tank commander, in that they think they own the road.

I stay well clear of these bikes & cars.

I should know both my managers/bosses own them

LMAO

I know what you mean, i have a couple of snobby Beemer riders i see every morning.

Lot of love for BMW riders here eh!!

I suppose that everyone has to hate something. Didn’t know LB members were so tribal…

I expect that BMW riders probably hate new riders dropping their bikes every 5 minutes :stuck_out_tongue:

If Ken Livingston were a biker… Need I say More!?.

As it happens, my old man has an Oldskool BMW (R80/RS if you must know), yet i can never remember him riding it with the paniers other than when we went away somewhere… Strange how a good product, with a good reputation can be ruined so quickly by a few dreaming twunts who have no sense of the world around them!..

Rant. over.

When not driving their Volvo’s, they are busy re-enacting the wrong long way down round.

Bloody hell! I thought I was the last person in England to own an R80/RS.

Sh*te bike for commuting.

Even without panniers, it’s just too wide. That’s what the trail bikes for, except then the bars are too wide. Then there are mirrors and giving way.

In short there are tossers and BMW riders. (And drivers.) Just a shame that the two coincide so often.

Oldguy.

My big bro Beemerbloke rides an R850 and he’s quicker than me through traffic, despite his advanced age. Hello Chris! He commutes from North London to Surrey and back everyday. But, granted, his isn’t a big GS so maybe you’re still right…

I’ve just bought a GS! My car is not a Volvo (sorry) but I ride 600+ miles per week and intend to tour Europe on it this Summer.

I promise not to use the panniers on a weekday, unless I’m touring.

Does this mean I can start riding like King ****? I do hope so.

I followed a Ducati Hypermotard through the traffic last night…could not believe how wide the bars are and then the mirrors stick out the end…:w00t:

He looked like he was paddling a canoe through the traffic…:stuck_out_tongue:

Would not like to try and commute on one…but he did move out of the way pretty quickly…

Vespa riders…in suits…nuff said;)

Vespa riders in suits? Must be a central London thing.

I work with a Vespa rider (also he’s a Speed Triple, a Lambretta and a Baghira rider) and I have to work hard to keep up with him on his Vespa while I’m on an 650 Aprilia Trail.

Of course, it could be I’m a **** rider?

Oldguy

nah not really, see them round hackney, round near borough, round farringdon, islington etc

they drive me nuts, they ride to close behind me, they brake way too late, they rarely do a lifesaver check or actually use thier mirrors…

or they have some bike gear on and wear momo open face lids, they drive me nuts aswell and are just as bad as the boys in suits.

i ride scooters, i love lil scoots for town work…i’ve put many a bigger bike to shame on the streets of london aboard a trusty scoot. but i ride properly, im not an idiot;) as i trust your mate isnt either:)
