The world has gone mad...........

Here (Spain) if the GC police ask you to identify yourself ,you stop whatever you are doing to give them your full attention or you can have problems… Fair enough you might think ?

An off duty fireman was heading home after his shift and spotted a house on fire…the occupants were both elderly and one was in a wheelchair. As he was struggling to get them out of the house the GC turned up and demanded his identity…he ignored them and got the couple out to safety.

Result…150 Euro fine + costs. he can’t afford this and the couple he saved want to pay…he has refused and is going to jail for a few days…WTF:angry:

Man that seriously sucks…

That’s sad, there are alot of injustices in life as Im sure we are all aware of.
Lets hope karma works for this guy in the future…

The world has indeed gone mad.

That is Guardia Civil for you… Things have improved thu… I remember a time when they were going gay bashing around Ibiza at night… Beating up people first and asking questions later (not that they ever cared about the answers)
Let’s not forget that they were created and used by Generalissimo Franco… Not your average child show presenter…

LOL just remembered. When I was touring Spain I got ‘escorted to a cash machine’ by the GC to pay for a spot fine they gave me for forgetting to turn my headlights on. This was during the day mind.

Coulda been worse if we’d been able to communicate and they’d found the expired tax disk.:w00t:

They were still doing that in 2000, I had a team member who was beaten up just for flyering :frowning: He was licenced also, but they didn’t ask to see the licence until after.

As D675 said, the GC are a remnant from Spain’s fascist past - never forget that these bastards could take over again if we are not vigilant - similar story with the Police in Italy and their links to the far right - remember when the G7 protesters were beaten to within an inch of their lives in Italy in 2001 by the paramilitary police with links to Fascists - Mussolini/Franco’s spirit appears to live on. . .

By the nature of SOME of the beasts, coppers world wide are not that far away from being reactionary at the least, Fascists with a bit of encouragement. More precisely, no discouragement.

Brixton SPG were not noted for their liberal attitude.

Balance is the problem. My local bunch are heavily pressured to be gentle and politicaly correct and, as a result, are pretty much a waste of space that the local teens just ignore or extract the p*ss.

That problem appears not to have struck the GC yet. Always were stroppy Fascist bastards.

Perhaps an “exchange visit” might be in order!

Heh. Theres more stupid laws in other coutrier. i.e. last year in Poland a bike (R1) was stolen from underground car park underneath a shopping centre. The CCTV caught thefts face on tape as he pulled away on the bike without a helmet. Police said theyre lookin for this guy but not many chances to find the bike. So the owner took that CCTV recording and advertised on sort of ebay-thing. Then he nearly got sued for sharing photos of a person without authorisation. Thefs photos.
And who`s a criminan now? :w00t:

But…some weeks later the bike was found. In Holland. As someone crashed it and police got him and the bike…

I hate bike thefts. If they take my bike, I hope they will end up being run over by a lorry. At least I`ll get some justice …and a wreckage…

Perhaps an “exchange visit” might be in order!:)[/quote]Might not be a bad idea…I must admit to a smile when I see the p1ssed up tourists who treat Benidorm (I go there one or twice a year) like Manchester town centre…GC turn up and the lads think “it’s only the Old Bill” and give them abuse…They see the error of their ways when they are bleeding in the back of a van:)…I have little sympathy for them I’m afraid;)

Yep - aggressive drunken louts, thieves, gangs of hoodies, wife beaters etc all deserve a kicking - I guess it’s just a question of knowing when to use hard/soft power and not getting the two mixed up. ;)
