The weather here in Kent (Medway Towns area) has been like a monsoon, since last night. My 13 year old daughter is in a bad mood as it has kept her awake all night. I should not have let her sleep in the tent in the garden.
It rains all weekend just to really bloody annoy us! And if it doesn’t then i will be at work.
Chucking it down here on the sunny (hahaha) south coast too.
Forecast for the rest of the week looks pretty poor too:doze:
To be honest autumn/winter has been pretty crap, I’ve probably only done about 7-800 miles since september as opposed to my usual 3 or 4 thousand…I find it hard to work up any enthusiasm when it’s like this.
Most riders I know have said the same, even the really hard core lot can’t be bothered!
Shame we can’t demand a refund or summat;)
The weather has been rather appalling, not stopped me from riding, but it does mean I spend time making sure the bike is clean and brakes are okay. Must get some more brake cleaner spray… Since September I’ve done 5000 miles or so…
The weather forecast was the reason why I went to the Ally Pally show on the Friday (and luckily had the day off). Sometimes I felt I was the only one there! I do hope Saturday and today are busier despite the weather, otherwise the organisers and stallholders may be looking at making a fairly hefty loss, and I guess that might spell the end of the Ally Pally show.
Yesterday was glorious! Dry weather all afternoon and even a hint of warm lcloudiness, rather than grey overcast
Had a great time hammering out about the countryside - loads of numptie drivers, and some plain moronic car driving as well. Even now it’s dry weather, although the rains are damp from an overnight pummelling.
Otherewise goretex, rain-proof spray and just enjoy it
yeh it was hissing down all night last night in Erith , but i stayed awake all night anyway to watch the WSBK’s …so not too bad …but i’m cream crackered now though
Erm… as I was proceeding in an orderly manner on the A406 at about mid-day yesterday, there was a Biblical-type deluge that didn’t stop til Greenford. My V4 engine gradually turned into a v-twin and back again. I got drenched. So borrocks!
What an amazing place! The desolate shoreline in winter all the out towards the old sea defences is just incredible. Nowhere else in England do you get a sense of mystery…all the people living in the Isle of Grain, apart from having webbed feet and six fingers, come and go like ghosts in the morning fog there!
Agreed. Very spooky even on a Sunday afternoon. Nowhere to get a cup of tea & a cake either:w00t: Edit - Well there might be now, we’ll find out where Johnny Handsome lives:P
Apparently it has been linked to the particulates that are emitted from commuting vehicles. More vehicles on the road during the week results in shitty weather at the weekends.
Before the Isle of Grain road made the top ten UK fastest bike roads in Performance Bikes mags a few years ago. It was a well kept secret, ten miles of fast tight bends, and a section of curves which made a very long straight route through. I used the road for many years at weekends for fast riding. Sundays was always best early morning. It has always been a very dangerous road, you really have to learn and respect it before you start to open things up. Now we have variable speed cameras, I couldn’t believe how many bikers were using the road at weekends, and the amount of accidents they were having.
You guys who come out are more than welcome to stop for a cuppa.
