If I was going to splash that sort of dosh on a V-twin, I think I’d be more likely to go down the 1098 route, but will be interested in seeing the test reports.

Only concern I have though is reliability of KTM bikes. I have some friends that ride in the dirt and they have made remarks about KTM that makes me wonder…? Anyone own a KTM or have anything to say about that??
Well I don’t own one, but if that’s true, how come they win so many Paris-Dakar races ?
I don’t know… my dirty rider friends just seem to disapprove. Was just wondering if anybody has personal experience?
bike sounds brilliant but it is there first attempt and I bet it will either be a classic or a dog…but KTM know engines…but I am done with the zx10 for next year…arrives february so cant buy another sports bike until 2009 i guess.

yep, they tried with a white haired lady on the classical KTM orange bike but it didn’t work as this one… 
I’m well in the market for one of these.
Local KTM dealer has a demo coming in and 2 order with part payment already… could be quite late into the year before he gets one in shop to sell though…

That could be KTM’s undoing with this; not getting it into showrooms quicker. I love the bike, can’t wait for a test-ride.
totally Jay… My local delaer said they are being real stopid over getting bikes out… He’s got a demo but can’t get a bike in if someone wants one after riding the demo… they have to join a list and hope he can get one.
It wont last long like… but we’ll be into 2009 before you can walk into a dealer and sit on a brand new one with an option to buy i reckon.

all KTMs are built with the track and racing in mind. From the duke to this newun. Good money on KTM winning a wsb race in the next 2 years with this. looks awesome!
