I teach a gym class at a uni and nearly got sacked for taking the class to the park to play rounders last summer.
Yes, uni, so everyone is over 18. Yes, they are allowed to go to the park during lunch/free periods. Yes, so am I…but one it turns one minute past, it’s against health and safety.

Well…I for one won’t be fitting one of those things if it happens. Instead I’ll stand up and fight against it. I’m sick of certain ‘groups’ getting what they want cos they stand up and moan loud enough…but in this instance I think I’ll take a leaf out of their book and start shouting!!
I can see pros and cons points for this. Allow me to explain before I get shot for this!
Pros.
No stupid racers on busy urban streets.
Fewer people killed due to speeding drivers.
No more speeding fines/points on licence
Cons.
Unable to put your foot down to get you out of trouble.
Installation costs
Resale value of a vehicle fitted with it.
I’ve spent time in Oman - out there, all cars are fitted with a very annoying alarm, (bit like when you leave the lights on in your car) which goes off if you exceed the national speed limit until you drop back below that speed. It does work.
and there’s the crux - by having this fitted you are no longer in full control of your own vehicle. Which is wrong - there are times where slamming on full throttle could save your life, but you won’t be able to.
People with modern cars can’t drive anyway, as so much of the driving is done for them by the car. auto lights that come on in the dark, wipers than start up when it’s raining etc. The more basic the car, the more the driver knows how it works etc. Obv I’m biased tho, cause my car has no mod cons 
My motor’s got auto wipers, lights ect. At first I thought they were great, but after a while, I’ve them back to ‘manual’. Because they do what THEY want, not what and when I want them to.
Isn’t there something in the Road Traffic laws about being in full control of your vehicle? I wonder what the rozzers think of this idea?
Love the way they put the ‘cutting CO2 emissions’ down as a primary reason other than safety…
Maybe that’s cos actually they know that making people go slow everywhere would have no effect on safety whatever…

My question is who are these people and where do they get their money from to write such drivel? If everybody drove at 10mph with a man carrying a flag in front of them there would be much less accidents. Heaven knows there are going to be enough unemployed people to work as flag carriers soon.
