the good old days

My dad in the early 50’s

Tweed… the Goretex of the day

I’d love to ride one of those bikes one day to try and see what it felt like riding in those days…

Lovely old Norton.

We have the Norton Commando, Velocette venom and Vincent at my dads. Awesome bikes. Very very odd to ride at first. They are a delicate taste.

Great pic! I have one with my grandad on vinny, sidecar with nan and 1 son and 2 sons on the back of grandad. Ill dig it out

My grandad had a BS or something like that with a side car when I was a baby. Alas I don’t remember a thing about it:crying:

I’d love to own a classic like this:)

:w00t: would that be a BSA?

Just 40 years out of production. Oh how easily the British bike industry fell by the wayside and gets forgotten.

My first bike was a BSA 175cc B175 Bantam, and it was awesome

Nice photo of how it used to be, thanks for sharing, …

Now get yourself and your bike down to that location (or as near as) and do the ‘Now’ photo.

sadly the street has now gone, knocked in the 80’s but next time im up there with the bike defo do a pic

Just got to moms house and asked her. It was a BSA with a side car but there is a good reason why I don’t remember being on it… He sold it waaaaay before i was born

Nice - my avatar is my Grandad on his Brough Superior (taken in early 50s I believe) Oh, I wish he had kept it!

.

Oh mate dont you just! Cor that would be brilliant!

Im lucky my Dad rebuilt his Vincent he bought back in the days! Its a smasher.

Beautiful. The good old days
