the fun has begun - potential theiving scumbags

word out…people know now !!!

being para about ya bike is a foocan pain… i know.

dont let it spoil it jonny.

you cant beat 2 almax chains and 2 ground anchors, most scrotes will pass if they see that.

i was well para when i got my new bike but iv chilled a bit now

just rember if you go away leave it at work

nothing wrong with paranoia mate.

Keep and eye on your bike buddy and you can never have to much security these days.

The price of freedom is constant vigilance … well done! And Good Luck.

Home deterent … Park in a Pig Sh*t circle. Yep! Guaranted to put off any self respecting chav bike thief fuelling his obscene habit for gaudy shiny fings. Also sends two messages …

  1. My large Dog from Hell will be able to track you easily before eating you from the feet up.

  2. Said pigs providing said anti-theft compound require feeding … should above Dog from Hell fail to get beyond the scrotum.

Point 3 … you won’t be too popular at work!

charlie’s dead right on that one - be careful when you go to get on your bikes/get in your cars and dont keep keys by the door (most people do). neighbours of my parents blow money on flash cars and have been hit more than once - the cars have been driven off with the owners keys from breaking in via the front door.

Mate of mine has an old pay as you go mobile, fed from 12v under the back seat and uses the “Follow Us” service. www.followus.co.uk

Basically, for a small fee, you can trace the location of the phone via the web, pretty cool I reckon.

.

I’ve got a R like yours JB and last year when I read some guy in your neck of the woods had been followed home from a bikers meet by two clowns on an enduro, I’ve been hyper.

You probably heard … but for those who didn’t … This guy had spotted 'em, detoured until he lost 'em, went home, went in the house to get his garage keys, only to find them waiting for him for him when he went back out, despite wounding one of them he was choked until he gave up the R1’s keys… then they left with the bikes. He called his mates from the Bike meet who set out to search the area, rallied at an unfamilair pub (drug dealers haven) were challenged then seriously attacked without provocation, knifed and bottled. A sobering story for sure.

So despite the frivolity … I’m deadly serious.

Besides the most dangerous assassin is the one who approaches you smiling

VHF is affected underground as is UHF.

The radios at LD with the short stubby aeriels are VHF. never seen those work in an underground carpark.

that was really bad for dave - that was greenford which whilst not actually my area for either location where the bike goes to, still makes you wary as feck when you’re rocking round town in any of london’s more colourful areas. i’m pretty careful on the way home and have taken detours before just to make sure. I’m actually a bit annoyed with myself for not noticing him sooner but he may not have been following all that closely/was catching me up having passed him earlier up the road.

had some dudes in camden on sports bikes take an interest in the bike at the lights and instead of welcoming the normal chat it made me a bit nervous and i made a concious effort to lose them. heard from a dealer shortly after dave’s incident of a bike jacking at the lights which i believe was down kenton way somewhere but i dont recall now.

Woah there JB, ass-puckering times ahead for sure. All you can do is tie it down well, cover it and have a contigency like a Tracker so it should come back if all else fails.

And have sleepless nights…

just make sure that everytime you fire the bad boy up, you appreciate it

Sorry to hear this fella… Makes you feek kinda uneasy…

yes, bring it back!..

wire the frame up to a car battery?

riding home with my flat mate last night took the long way round which passes a different small parade of shops and a different set of local chavs nearby

hammers was behind me and seeing the kids on the corner put me on alert. sure enough, about 50 yards down the road i spot more than one headlight in my rear view so pull to the side of the road and hammers joins me. a scoot buzzes past, turns round to look at us as it passes, does a u-turn in a side street ahead and then come back past our bikes popping wheelies

prob just having a laugh but i’m not taking any risks!

watch around you when you’re heading home guys

Damn right, don’t have anyone around you when you get near your house. Always keep your eyes out for who’s behind you for the last couple of miles! This isn’t paranoia, it’s happened before to one of ours who was confronted at his doorstep and his bike stolen from him!

If someone is behind me when I pull into my road, I go straight by and come round again. Takes one minute longer, but is safer I feel. I keep a low profile, very quiet near my house, which apeases my neighbours moreso.

Its good advise, I would also go for a bit of a ride round the block as many times as it takes for the theiving scum to get the message you are on to them.

hey johny b!

talking about security…as anouther precaution…think about cctv…its easy to rig up B&Q are doing some pretty good ones at the moment for a reasonable price…put a sign where any potential arse wipes can see it saying you are being watched. Also you can catch the stepfather if he gets to close whilst parking his motor!!!

we have cctv all over the place - its usually a waste of space when it comes to the police tho. it always seems to be a case of its not clear enough or they’re wearing ‘hoodies’…or something equally daft

i’ve posted an alert on the board where i live - apparently a couple of years back one of the residents got car jacked and has had his bike stolen in the past. not a lucky chappie
