So, two years later, a full rebuild and the DRZ is finally running again! It’s had it’s maiden ride along the drive-way, but needs some tail lights fitting and a new headlight shroud and she’ll be ready for the road! I’m so relieved. Got to un-sorn it and insure it again, but boy, I can’t wait to get it going again, it’s a hoot to ride around town and now has a competition engine to make things more interesting.
For those that don’t know, two years ago, I lent it to Foxy whilst she was rebuilding her Fireblade and she blew it up on the motorway, destroying the engine pretty good I think she learnt a lot about mechanical sympathy after that event.
A huge thanks goes out to our Smokey who diagnosed a starter-motor problem, dismantled it, cleaned it, repaired it and put it back together, got it firing and left me with a huge grin on my face
Have you ever taken her out for a ride? I took my Mother for a ride on the M109-R…she was doing great out on Thunder Road…until I ran it up to 100 mph exiting my favorite twisty bit…then she showed me the fist. LOL
I’ll look forward to seeing more onboard vids of you out playing the Hooligan once you get the last bit of fine tuning done.
