He didnt sound that fearful on the 911 call though?!
He told the despatcher that he was going outside, and he confidently told them to listen to him **** the gun!
…and its always use reasonable force as necessary to protect yourself and your property. How the law interprets that is a matter for the individual case.
they were also shot in the back. doesn’t quite tally up with the ‘when they’re rushing you’ excuse
I cant even type **** the weapon on here, without it getting starred out… ha ha
They must have been rushing him backwards;)
Would that be a rear guard action?
As much as I am in favour of more severe sentencing, what that guy did is just murder. He called the emergency number and told them exactly what he was going to do. They weren’t in his home, and e shot them in the back.
It was premeditated, and at least it should have been manslaughter.
and to think i left texas for london
I don’t see the problem.
The law in Texas states you can use lethal force to protect your own or a neighbours’ property.
When the guy went out with the gun he told them if they moved they were dead.
They moved.
Now they dead.
I would happily shoot anyone burglarising my house if a had a gun.
If you live in Texas and you know that people are allowed to shoot you if you’re invading their proerty thenyou take the risk - those two idiots rolled the dice and lost, end of.
Premeditated murder. . .
I’ve used the race card before. At Uttoxeter. And Newbury (where I got a 25/1 shot on the last race). It’s not so much boring as a bit technical, form and all that.
Friend of mine lives in Houston, a few years ago he shot and killed a young lad who was climbing in through his kitchen window in the early hours, no charges and a bit of paperwork to fill in.If you ask him would he do it again? yes! his 3 young daughters and wife were in the house and he had no idea whether the guy was armed or not, he wasn’t prepared to take the chance, the only surprising thing is that there are still people prepared to commit burglery with the attendant risks ! different country ,different rules, don’t judge by our standards.

+1
for sure he should of walked!.
they wont be robbing anybody else, whats the problem?
exactly.
that sounded staged to me…
Good on him I say, thieving scumbags deserve all they got. In fact, as some say they can’t believe that people still take the risk in Texas knowing the laws then maybe having hereditary guilt such as they do in North Korea might make them think before taking what doesn’t belong to them. Seriously though, what if the old bloke didn’t have a gun and challenged both burglars, what do you think the end result woulda been? What would you do if you caught someone red handed trying to steal your pride and joy and you knew the law was on your side and you were armed? I’d probaly go for a non fatal shot, just so I could torture the f****rs until the rozzers arrived.

Hang on. He shot two men in the back. Simultaneously, he found time to give a rather dispassionate running commentary on their murders over the phone with his other hand. He even provided - one presumes for the benefit of the man on the other end of the phone who might be otherwise unable to visualise proceedings to his satisfaction - vocalised sound effects of his crashingly loud and terrifying shotgun as he uses it to kill people .
So he killed them, essentially, in cold blood.
That’s simply not cricket! If you endorse it it’s probably (hopefully?) because you’ve got a very misguided idea of what happened there.
