after flipping my bike at cadwell a few weeks back had sorted the bike:) went out last sunday for a ride. then on the way home hit a big slippery patch on a roundabout, lost the back end then got hi sided off the bike:w00t: landed on my left hip hard but ok.i pushed my bike on to the pavement, while looking over the bike i could see a few cars losing traction so moved bike forward about 10feet when all of a sudden a lady in a vw polo starts heading towards me:w00t: but thanks to the lamp post it stopped the car from taking me and the bike out:cool: and was lucky i move the bike a few mins b4 cos my bike was originally where she stopped.
i’m still wearing them as i only change once a month:D will let you know next sunday change;)not sure if it was diesel or just very oily but was a big area cos even cars where losing it. when lfb turned up they looked but said theres not much they can do cos sand would not help so they F’d off again:w00t:
That was a close one. Someone from the Council or Road highways thingy people should have cleared it up. Have you written to the local council about it? Might help to prevent a serious accident.
Glad you’re ok and the bike ain’t to damaged m8. Heal fast!
Your local council will have an emergency contact number - phone it and report it - and get a reference number or name of the person you spoke to… tends to make them less likely to forget you spoke to them… if you can’t get through to them contact the police and tell them about it - it’s a dangerous hazard on the road, and they will contact the council on numbers they have for them, and if you’re really lucky they might send someone to have a look and assess it - they may even cone it off or close the road!
Oh, and well done on the lucky escape… you’d be suprised how dangerous the sides of roads are…did you know that you are more likely to die on the hard shoulder of a motorway than on the main carriageway?
You lucky bugga… welcome to the twilight zone. This si a job for the highways agency its them that look after A roads, council do B roads, the local H/A numbers in teh book
That was fortunate, man you’d have been royally ticked off if you hadn’t moved your bike. You’d have probably got up and physically smashed the bike and the car.
Supposedely it doesn’t stand up in court because it’s not calibrated or something to that effect. If you get pulled and they cycle through your sat nav and refer to your top speed you can claim that it was done on a private road or a track or that you unit is totally inaccurate when it comes to speed.
