Textile clothing

hey all

i’m, after some textile clothing for work, i ride all day long in all weather so i need some good quality textiles but i dont want to pay a fortune!

what sort of price i’m i looking at for a decent set?, jacket and trousers, they need to be as waterproof as poss and preferably breathable, offer decent protection and have some armour.

i know of a few makes and names but i wanna see what people have tried and tested and found good, also needs to be hard wearing as being out all day riding takes it toll on clothing!

Ta:)

I’ve got one of these textile suits:

It’s comfy enough, and certainly keeps the rain out. Lovely and warm in the winter, but I have found it to get a bit steamy in this humid weather.

You missed the Lidl spectacular!

Not sure if this link will work…

Unfortunately for the wallet Ratty, that might be a problem - the sort of riding you are doing for work may need different gear for summer / winter even though it will all need to be waterproof.

Hein Gerike have a good selection of textiles.

for the summer why not use kevlar jeans and put a waterproof overpant when needed?

then all you need is a good textile with removable liner and jipers (for air) and a good pair of winter textiles

I have had a pair of spada textile trousers for the past 2 yrs that are cheep and good (no leaks)

i just bit the bullet and got the tricky III suit from HG… love it.
I get sooo hot and sweaty in any textiles, but not at all in these…

Really am very impressed… Csost a lot but with all the gurentees etc… like to think i wont need to buying gear for a very long time now…
HG Stockwell were very helpful… and i got 110 off by using that £50 off voucher twice! Dont get if you dont ask.

I looked at a fair few textiles before i bought a dianese d dry set. It wasnt cheap but fitted the best…

Couriers and the police are probably the best people to speak to, they properly use stuff…

i been doing that, problem is, if it strats raining i have to stop and put them on…so now if i know its likely to rain or have showers during the day i waer them all day, its gets a bit hot tho, i wear red route combats underneath, due to my job i also have to walk around the hospitals and clinics to find the various departments to pick up or drop from/to.

footwear is no problem, i sacrificed my sidi B2 rains, they are the dogs danglies, waterprrof overtrousers are also a pain beacuse they ride up the boots!

rukka are what i am looking at, but well out of my price range at them mo, quite possibly i will go HG, they make great gear! already have HG leathers and mesh textile jacket.

i wont buy anything textile or leather from frank thomas, crap quality from what i seen and know.
