hi all im test riding a bmw s1000 rr next week as i would like a 1000 cc later this year i am also gonna try a blade can anyone give me some views or info about the bmw or the blade. i know its only me that ultimately makes the decision but your views would help …thanks…Jamie
depends if your a techy. The BMW has the lastest gadgets and thingys you can change.
But for the BEST 1000cc it will always be, and has been for a very long time… the Blade.
I test rode one and it blew my mind. I frequently ride a ducati 916, guzzi 1000, the odd gsxr thou. Nothing comes close to build quality, engineering advances and just pure Honda Dreaming perfection. I had the baby blade (rr) and i was very very impressed. Its only a bit of spare dough stopping me getting the blade. But… I WILL get one very soon!! :D:D:D
When I had my 1098S, I fancied a change and took out a new blade out for a spin, fast, amazing handling, hardly moved out of sync, under hard braking/acceleration…but for the road its boring, for a track bike I would have one tomorrow.
hmm maybe a tad. But i did test ride myself a few months back. wow. also rode to 1098 and still think blade is better. Character? Your just not riding it properly…
Impossible to ride “properly” on the road…Can I get this on record please, you’re saying a blade has more character than a 150bhp V-twin 1098, by far the best wheely machine I’ve ever mounted(even over my TLS)?
NOT impossible to ride properly on the road, but hard and technically can be dangerous. I ride regulary a 916 duc. Its beatiful. Loads of character, if a tad unrealiable. At times a little difficult to ride with the hydro clutch at slow big group ride outs such as Mayday run. Every bike has character. you just need to know your bike and know what you want in terms of character. Even a rat run every day dodgit bike to get you to work has character, so does the brand new blade/duc 1098/ RC8 thats got little milage on. Im not denying the Duc’s are awesome and pure character.
