TCX X-Street boots,,,, Opinions???

Like the look of the TCX X-Street - all the other ‘shortie’ boots look like trainers that have fell into a blender with some diving socks ter me…

I like the way they look ‘civilian’ and don’t scream “I’ve got a bike” to everyone.

Opinions folks?

I saw them at the bike show up close, they look ok in some colours… Not sure how much protection they would offer but they looked pretty sturdy.

If you get them let us know what they’re like…

True - I have my Sidis for long distance/speed type stuff but wanted a shortie boot for city scratching and they look ‘civilian’ enough to wear down the pub/in a restaurant.

Obviously I loose the above ankle/calf protection but I also loose the club-foot with huge warts look that your normal Sidi/Alpinestar type boot gives you

don’t get me wrong I think they’re a great compromise for a few occasions when you’d rather wear a pair of trainers… however, they are no way near as realistic looking. The photos oversell them in my opinion

I just couldn’t justify the expense for the amount of times I would wear them, however with summer coming up, that may be about to change as I wear more and more kevlar jeans…

I was looking at a pair in daytona’s in Ruslip guys there telling me are pretty good all the staff have a pair and one came off recently and was completely fine…
Probably get a pair as a compromise to usually wearing DC’s

I have a pair, can’t talk about the protection as I haven’t had to test it (thankfully). They are in my opinion very comfortable, not too heavy. I have a pair of Puma short trainer type boots and the x-street are a lot nicer to wear and ride in.

I wear mine on the short hops where there’s going to be a bit of mooching about when I get there. You don’t get the Robocop stomp that accompanies the full on riding boots

I was thinking of getting a these for my short commute in the summertime…need to clear it with the girlfriend first.

Grow a pair & buy a pair!

I bought a pair of the waterproof (because lets face it we do live in the UK…) black leather ones a week or so back, not used them on the bike yet as they’re not really a winter boot, but have tried them out as normal boots & they are very comfortable for walking about in.

As for protection, unlike 99% of ‘proper’ bike boots they are CE certified as protective motorcycling gear so foot/ankle protection should be good, though obviously there is no shin or lower leg protection.

Maybe you judge that wrong, maybe a toy-boy.

They look neat. I’d prefer sticking with the S-Race TCX boots as they stopped me breaking my foot in early 2011, but the brand are quality

Thanks all - good to know…think my minds made up now…I’ll get some…

…mind you must be my age but I’d like to see them in brown as well as black, grey and er…white???

Brown…???

What do you drive, an austin metro??? :stuck_out_tongue:

I know…:crying: and I also inquired if they did a brogue patten to match my blue/grey slacks and beige windcheater…

Actually I did have brown All-stars… they were pretty cool

But then again I am greek, I can carry brown

If you like them buy them if you don’t… er dont!
