TCX Infinity boots

So I’m pretty set on getting a pair of these as an all year round boot. Having searched LB for previous threads on the topic of boots they seem to have a good reputation. Specifically I’m looking at these for the goretex and a bit more cover up the shins.

So, to the people who have owned or still own a pair, would you definitely buy them again and are there any bad points like width, wear to the sole etc?

Cheers.

They look very similar to these, which we have both had for several years

Ours are completely waterproof, comfortable and have worn very well.

I was told they were made by the same people, I’ve got the HG ones as well. Can confirm they are completely waterproof.
I would say they don’t feel as secure/snug as my Sidi Black Rains (these are 100% waterproof and comfortable) but they go come up higher on the shin than the Sidi’s and comfortable to wear for all riding.

I have a pair I use on long runs. Very good boots and mine have proved to be waterproof so far. I do prefer a smaller sports boot for normal riding.

Got a pair in September. Love them. Very comfortable , warm and dry.

Note they are only £189 at Get Geared in Leatherhead, or by mail order from them.

Had mine about four years and they’re looking a bit tatty now with a hole in the top leather seam worn away by the gear lever, and heels worn down with the hollow insides of the soles on display. Front part of the soles are fine.

I want to replace them with brand new boots - in fact I bought the pair Jetstream recommended, for cheap in HG Coulsdon’s first closing down sale over a year ago, but they have been in storage as I’ve been waiting for the Infinities to no longer be usable so I can bin them. Annoyingly, after four years and over 40k miles of use (mainly everyday commuting and occasional touring), the Infinities are still waterproof and very comfortable indeed. And the fasteners (which I’ve managed not to lose so far when they come off) still work. They just look a bit tatty.

So it looks like they may well be usable for another four years.

I’ve owned a number of pairs of boots over the years, and these are definitely the best I’ve ever owned. If you’re happy with the way they look, then unless you get a dud pair, you will definitely be happy with the way they perform.

Don’t mind if they end up looking a bit tatty, so long as they do the job. Current pair of Richa Slicks have done me well in terms of protection, but they have taken a beating :hehe:
Having said that, I think I have experienced the majority of the novice rider mistakes so these should last the distance by the sounds of it.

Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated!

I have a pair and whilst they are waterproof and have decent warmth to them I find the protection to be minimal in comparison to proper boots, I wear them for short journeys or when i cant wear my proper boots.

Ordered a pair. If I put them on and feel the same about the protection the place I got them from have a good reputation for exchange etc so not too worried about that.

So what do you class as “proper boots” ??? :ermm:

DPD arrived just as I got to the office, saved him having to put his cigarette out and signed for the boots at the side of the road.
Got them on in the office to wear them in a bit and I must say they feel pretty solid to me! Love the optional romper stomper style toe plate, proper sh*t kickers
Although I’ll probably leave them off… a little too brutal looking for little ol’ me.
