Tail tidy for VTR1000

I hope someone can help with a dumb question! My VTR looks so chunky compared to modern bikes, and I don’t like the mass of black plastic hanging off the back end. I was looking at this tail tidy http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360284371616&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT to smarten up the rear.

Can anyone enlighten me as to how a tail tidy actually fits? Is there any cutting involved? The advert says its a maximum 1 hour job.

I need a new rear tyre fitted soon, so I thought it might be a good idea to get this done at the same time.

Cheers,

Steve.

why are there haribo bears in the pack?

I think it’s called a sweetner!!!

Sorry, poor gag!

You’d think that with all those satisfied customers around the world, he’d be able to post before/after photographs:rolleyes:

Ian

it might screw into the old holes if not then you might have to drill new ones

i believe that it needs to be bolted onto a new undertray… or you need to cut the oem one.

i got something similiar on mine… changed undertray and bolted a similar license plate holder on

I just took the stock one off and got at it with a hacksaw. tidied it all up with a very sharp stanley and put it back on. Hey presto no big plastic sail at the back of the bike.

gaffer tape

Is there anything on a bike that can’t be fixed or attached by gaffer tape?

Thanks for your replies chaps.

hmmmm simple answer no …
