Switzerland Trip

Hi all,

Going away for 4 days and want to go to switzerland from calais, does anyone know of any good web sites/adavice on places to stay go etc?

Thanks

stayed here a couple of years ago, very welcoming and Dutch so they speak English better than we do  if its a bit of a stretch, then Luxembourg is full of hotels and the famous George and Dragon I don’t remember walking away from here a few times over the years:P if you want really cheap there is a Formula 1 in Metz just off the motorway. As a place to stay then here is a great place and the owners are an australian and his local wife, so again no language problems (except with him:P) the area is incredibly scenic, and as a suggestion a route from there to France try putting this into google, Lauterbrunnen>Speiz>Gstaad>Chateau D’oex>Champex>Annecy

Interesting route to Switzerland… how about using the D roads from Calais to Dijon area and finding a B & B with a green and yellow sign saying ‘Auberges et Logis de France’ on it? Alternatively, http://www.logis-de-france.fr/fr/index.htm (is in French) will give you info. They are cheap & clean and off the beaten track. Any translation needed, let me know  Q

might look at those myself as now riding to Italy in August we gotta find cheap overnight accomadation between dijon and geneve

works out to be one of the quickest routes for me , 700 miles door to door (give or take) a choice of motorways or fast “A” type roads, a diversion through the Voseges and then a blast across Switzerland, and he did say he was looking at 4 days, I love the Bernese Oberland for views and some really nice small roads and villages.

if you are still looking for places in Switzerland I can put you in touch with my sister, she lives in Zurich and is a biker too, am sure she knows some good rides
