Sv rebuild in progress

Well the time has come and now the star ship enterprise has came to an end and needs a fresh lease of life. Ive been thinking this over from months and could never come up with a colour or what to do with her but at last things are rolling and im hoping for a quick turn around only time will tell.

before

Took her off the road on Tuesday and stripped all the body work off with the spare tank for painting. In the mean time i got these:D

Tonight i set to work stripping all the bits off ready for powder coating in the morning. heres how it looked .

Lots of fighting with knackered old bolts so need to get new ones ordered tomorrow as well as making sense of the loom and where to put it lol. I don’t have Abba stands of anything like that so made use of a car jack, bag of sharp sand, bricks and an old computer unit:w00t:

Heres my what im left with to meet mv-woodster for the powder coating so lots of rust removal relocating wires and tarting up to do over the next few days.

nice bits you got there - what are the rearsets?

gbmoto they got a good review on the sv forum and local so went to chessington to see the owner at his house. I pick them up with a banjo pressure sensor as it cant take the brake light switch. good quality and fairly cheap see how i get on with them.

doing a great job of that ,looking good.keep us updated:)

Like the short levers.

Thought of a paintscheme?

Nice one mate

looks like a nice project i wish i had a garage!!!

yeap but youll have to wait and see

looking forward to seeing it finished

i am sad to see the enterprise retire from flight status :frowning: ( ) but looking forward to see what you come up with!

good luck mate!

any money it’s gonna be black with red trim - look at the levers!!!

bout time mate!

looking good…look forward to seeing it finished.

please once its done keep it in that shape! ( thats not a dig just banter)

im actaully quite jealous of how its gonna look!

Had a slow moving day today getting the frame all ready for spraying aswell as attacking rust on the chain adjustment plates, various nuts and bolt heads.

im missing afew pictures as was too busy cracking on with the work but managed to clean up the calipers for painting but im not happy with the finish of the black satin so thatll be redone at some point in the week

before

after

the fork legs looked abit pitted and worn so i sanded filled and repainted

the frame being worked on

and the finish product

once the lacquer has cured ill be setting to work on rubbing it all down with compound to get the silver spot on but now i need to work out what to do with the engine as its looking pretty dirty now the frame is fresh again.

forks and frame look mint, nice one

Amazing difference!Good work! Is the rear shock an OEM or aftermarket item?

got more presents in the post a rear seat panel, headlight under panel trim thing  front subframe, mirrors and front brake reservoir just a shame im at work.

The rear shock is a gsxr 1000 k4 which drops straight in just needs the gsxr bolt to fit. Ive gone for it as the sv shock is almost maxed out and im only 14stone with kit on

Fat ba$tard!

aww poor half pint just because chessington wont let you on the bigboy rides doesnt mean you can take it out on me
