Superstitions

Winters here and the roads are getting treacherous. Take care out there.

How many of you LBers have a talisman or ritual to gain support from the Almighty (whoever she may be)

Just to kick off, I always carry one of my three lucky conkers in my right hand jacket pocket Oh almost forgot, always bang one out even if Im just going down the shops, just in case its the last chance I get.

What do you do:)

Similar thought.

I’ve decided I want a woodland burial but wondering if I need to take some grave goods with me. But what?

Crucifix, but what if the final judge isn’t a Christian? Money for the boatman just in case? A copy of the Koran? The Torah?

If you want to cover your bets, it’s quite a long list.

As for winter riding, I always, absolutely always, take my bike.

Just take your lucky conker, that will pay the ferryman every time.

You could always bang one out if this fails, but you have to do it before you set off:)

Looking a little fixated on “banging one out” tonight Jetstream.

Are we having problems?

Of course not, we never have “problems” in that department, just getting a little friskier as the weather gets colder.

Who could resist?

Just the one?

Showing great restaint or is the medication?

well…having a w@nk before i ride is dam right nessesary mate…and i have a snout after…just incase (ya cant do either in hospitol)

i always take myself when i go out on the bike…ive been to work without me on the bike and i left a skiddy in my tighty whiteys…swore somthing bad was gonna happen…i had a very empty feeling…!!

when i sit on the bike…before i set off…i tap the left hand bar 4 times…then with the base of the palm of my hand…i tap the side of my head 3 times…

i then move my eye balls from left too right as fast as i can…then tap the right bar once…then a short …sharp…grunt normally follows…

smiled:).

Suprised you ever get to set off:)

You don`t have a lucky conker?

LB agony aunts could help with your OCD.

JESUS…do i need a lucky conker…really…dont f_ck about here…please if i need a lucky conker i need a lucky conker…you have a lucky conker so why should’nt i…really…i need a lucky conker…all i have is belly button fluff…OMG…why is it smelly?..OMG im starting to pulsate now…wewwwwww…i need to chill…wait…chill…winter…chilly winter…riding in chilly winter…jetstreams lucky conker…ohhhh noooo…

smiled:).

I don`t carry anything like that on my bike.

That should speed things up. Lucky conker = bust ribs = punctured important internal bits, right? I’ll stick with my Custard Filled Haddock skin!

Carry a set of ‘guia’ neck-strings usually worn by Candomblé aka. Xangô (an Afro-Brasilian polytheistic religion) practicioners, although I have never been one.

Tend to have a dump, just to make sure that I don’t mess myself incase of an accident. :w00t:

+1

Especially as I ride a twin.

Life sized Saint Christopher blow up doll riding pillion and multiple rabbits foot necklace. + Make sure bowels and bladder are empty plus clean underwear and socks to make the ambulance/A&E people’s life marginally more pleasant when they cut my trousers and boots off.

I am very superstitious… I never ever go anywhere on the bike without my HELMET… Call me crazy but seems to make me feel safer out there

LOL:P:D:w00t:

have this wierd thing about flappy or dangly bits :D:D:D :stuck_out_tongue:

All my zips, velcro and ties have to be tucked in. I make a ritual of making sure of this before i set off. What can I say im crazy???

Just sensible - it stops things like phones etc falling out of pockets:)

Lol, you beat me to it :stuck_out_tongue:
