Cover 150 miles today - mostly around the M25 and M3.
Kind of sad to see how many car accidents there were. Two cars completely overturned and facing the wrong way on the triple carriageway of the M3; a single car which looked like it had driven up an embankment; a rear plough in by two cars; a broken down bus; two German women looking like they were having a different sort of breakdown…
as well as extraordinary awful tailgating from drivers. M25 was car park for several junctions. M3 road works still there (as they’ve always been) :doze:
Is it the weekends which make car drivers go mental? The heat? Or are they like this during the week and it’s just I don’t notice? :ermm:
I got cramp riding for 3 hours solid - could barely find my foot to rest. That’s the thing about the M25 - you can go around it and never hit a traffic light!
I find I have to blip my rear brake light continuously just to flag them before they plough right into my backside. At least on the wider motorway stretches, we can ride off-centre from the lane in case.
A biker overtook us earlier on the m25 in lane 3 of 4 and then undertook the car in front of us, even though lane 4 was empty, seemed an odd thing to do, so it’s not just car drivers…
Was that me? If it was, then you must’ve been on the gay Harley cruiser wobbling at 60mph top speed
(J/k)
My guess is that he wanted to maximise his safety margin and was planning ahead. Either that, or the next exit on the left was ahead. No point in staying cluttered on the fast lane like all those other numpty car drivers driving bumper to bumper.
if you were riding an white and red r6, then it was you, and no, I was in my astra, no junction for miles and lane 4 was empty, poor choice to undertake when the motorway was moving at 80mph and lane 4 was empty
Saw a fatal involving a cement lorry North side of Vauxhall bridge, another fatal looking by Lambeth Bridge involving a double decker straight away just after diverting around the first and then finally a lady managed to flip her 2010 reg Black Golf on to the roof on the North side of Hammersmith bridge in the width restriction lane. All this within two hours on Saturday…
It is not just weekend drivers/riders. Saw two multi-vehicle accidents on opposite carriageways at Roehampton lights on the A3 on Friday afternoon. It will get even worse when the World Cup is on. Last time drivers got very aggressive and impatient in the evening commute.
The usual bag of Sunday drivers practicing for the Bank Holiday yesterday. Yes, I did go from lane 2 to lane 1 to lane 2 to lane 3 to call a guy holding everything up a pillock, but he was merely one of many.
I was rather more disturbed by the accident on the A22 involving an Aprilia deeply embedded in a hedge “wrong side”. Lots of cops and an ambulance, don’t know how it happened as he would have been a mere 70 yards from the roundabout exit.
Sigh. Sounds like this is what we can expect every summery sunny weekend after coming out of the longest winter in hell.
Nuts. That’s bad news - especially seeing such a beautiful Italian bike like that going for a leak in the bushes. Hope the rider is okay.
I gave up trying to understand why/how/what cars/bikes end up in strange places during accidents. At one point on junction 8 of the M25, the tailbacks were due solely to car drivers slowing down to stare at the wreckage like a spectator sport.
Believe me kid, that’s bad!! You have a tarted up dynjetted chavsmobile (with the sub boom boom box no doubt?) and a shocking yello shellsuit clad Gixxer lol.
I must have it in for chavs today. Yeah. That’s it. Not sure why.
